THE PRICE OF REWARDING TERRORISM

You do not defeat terrorism by rewarding terrorists, regardless of how many bleeding heart liberals argue otherwise. Want to know where that flawed approach leads to? Read UNIONISM DECAYED 1997-2007 - It's my first book and it explains what happens when you seeek to appease terrorists and call it peace. It's available right now for ATW readers so make sure you get your copy by emailing the editor! This is the book that dissents from the herd mentality that doing wrong can lead to being right. It doesn't and this book spells out WHY.

A NEW ALLIANCE?

THE chairman of the UK Independence Party has said the party will consider an alliance with Jim Allister's TUV in future elections.

Paul Nuttall, UKIP MEP for the North West of England, was speaking to the News Letter yesterday after a low-key exploratory visit to the Province. UKIP has only one politician in Northern Ireland at present — Kilkeel councillor Henry Reilly, who defected from the UUP. Mr Nuttall described TUV leader Jim Allister as “a good guy” who worked closely with UKIP in Europe when an MEP. “The reason we didn’t stand here in the last European election was to give Jim a free run,” he said, adding that UKIP “will explore” the possibility of an alliance with him in the future.

I have a lot of time for the UKIP and the fact that they see the TUV as natural allies here in NI is interesting. The good guys should end up in the right alliance.

So the TUV now wants the UK to leave the EU? Get real. This is a non-story. Neither party has a snowball's chance in Hell of getting aywhere in the next election. Move on, folks nothing to see here. One bunch of deluded weirdos wants to mix with another bunch of deluded weirdos - nothing new!

If it goes on like this there will soon be no one left to form an alliance with Sinn Fein!

Thanks for that profound contribution. I guess being "a weirdo" is better than being a gutless terrorist morally bankrupt brain dead appeasing drone? Just saying....

Say what you like David. Whataboutery doesn't cut with me. And if you're making an accustion here, i'm no Shinner - i'm just telling it like it is. I have no time for either weirdos or terrorists.

I will indeed say what I like. You allege "whataboutery" doesn't cut it with you having engaged in that re the TUV and UKIP. Do you get the irony of your position? As to whether the TUV "have a snowball's chance in hell" - time will tell.

Personally, an alliance of any parties who prefer debate without resort to violence or the threat of violence, has to be a good thing.
"All that is necessary for evil to triumph is that good men do nothing"
attr. Edmund Burke.
I hope it works!

Well they do have a lot in common. Both have never won an election in Northern Ireland and all of their elected representatives (all councillors) were elected for another party and then jumped ship.

Don't tell Jeffrey, or Arlene, or else they will get upset.

Since that date wee Jeffrey, Arlene Foster, Peter Weir etc have all been re-elected under the DUP banner. Jim, on the otherhand, was scalped. Currently the TUV have no member of their party who was democratically elected to any position as a member of the TUV.

Seamus,
I believe Winston Churchill changed sides in his political career too.
In fact many notable politicians have done just that.
If you're saying these folk just want to be "in politics" I would agree that it might not achieve anything.
However, I would not rule out that if they can unite around the core issues they will make a difference.
And that's what we want.
