THE PRICE OF REWARDING TERRORISM

You do not defeat terrorism by rewarding terrorists, regardless of how many bleeding heart liberals argue otherwise. Want to know where that flawed approach leads to? Read UNIONISM DECAYED 1997-2007 - It's my first book and it explains what happens when you seeek to appease terrorists and call it peace. It's available right now for ATW readers so make sure you get your copy by emailing the editor! This is the book that dissents from the herd mentality that doing wrong can lead to being right. It doesn't and this book spells out WHY.

ATW FRIDAY JUKEBOX...

And so we come to the end of a memorable if challenging week, and I discover that recently discovered recordings by the great American singer Hank Williams are being released, after being rescued from a rubbish skip. The recordings date to 1951 and what I heard of them were sublime...the story is here.

So, in Hank Williams mode, I offer you up this and dedicate it to all the women of ATW!

Hank has been an inspiration to many of todays country and rock stars. He is regarded as the first rock n roll casualty at the the tender age of 29 years.

Quite amazing how his music lives on. He certainly didn't have to audition for some bland meaningless TV talent show.

Mid-Ulster,

I always think he looked so old for one who died so young but what a great singer and song-writer, and what a voice. This a cheerier one but I prefer his sadder stuff.

Have to agree David. He did look older. Must have been the hard life he lived.

Me too about the sadder stuff. 'I,m so lonesome I could cry' 'Cold Cold Heart' - classics. He also did some great gospel stuff as well.

Flirting with the help? Are you trying to get a rise out of your lovely wife, David? ;-)

I love all that old country stuff, Cline, Wynette, etc. This song reminds me of an older gentlemen, Zeke, that worked in my office many years ago - he'd sing this song to me with a broad smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye. He was also partial to "Baby's Got Her Blue Jeans On."

Reminds me of the waterboys song, "Has anybody here seen Hank?"

Can't find it on youtube, but you can listen to it here (top right, the player thing).

Of course in my head I change the words to 'Has anybody here seen Frank?' :-)
