Music You do not defeat terrorism by rewarding terrorists, regardless of how many bleeding heart liberals argue otherwise. Want to know where that flawed approach leads to? Read UNIONISM DECAYED 1997-2007 - It's my first book and it explains what happens when you seeek to appease terrorists and call it peace. It's available right now for ATW readers so make sure you get your copy by emailing the editor! This is the book that dissents from the herd mentality that doing wrong can lead to being right. It doesn't and this book spells out WHY.

We'd really like to have you comment on our site! We want good conversation, no abuse and no trolls. I reserve the right to ban anybody who wilfully and persistently breaks these rules. So go ahead and speak your mind!
"I do remember... the corridors of Broadcasting House were strewn with empty champagne bottles. I'll always remember that", Jane Garvey, BBC Five Live, May 10th, 2007, recalling May 2nd, 1997.

This is the bloody paradox about you, David, you have excellent taste in music - and shit politics! ;o)
Jo,
I'm a dichotomy - what can I say? Now, where's my copy of the Pogues Birminham Six....
David, write about music more often! I promise notto disagree. Did Elvis ever play Queens in your time, or indeed ever? I am too young lol :)
Jo,
No. But I went to see him in Cork and Manchester in his (and my) early years. He did play Belfast circa 85. I've seen him in Canada, UK, Ireland and hope to see him play in the US.
I became a fan back in 1977 and have always held him above all others. It's the lyrical dexterity, the attitude, the melodies, the actual sound - the passion and a connection it makes with me. I love wordplay and Elvis does it better than most. He even does triple puns - and i love all that. He was angry when he was younger, I'm midly irate now I'm older!
A loss that he wouldnt come back. I think he could fill the Waterfront. We could both go? I am sure he'd fill the place. Did u attend the Police concert?
No - didn't see the Police but like all their stuff, even Sting's solo stuff has some merit. Did you go? The Police at Stormont seemed - post modern surrealism?
I was there. Stings beard was so Gerry Adams. You'd have loved it DV!
I had to laugh. I also have to admit I didnt buy a ticket, it was a gift. It'd be churlish to say how dear it was, but it was DEAR! Sting was funny though. Their support was good too.KT Tunstall?
Elvis supported them on their US gigs. THAT I would have gone to see. I remember bopping to "Message in a Bottle" eons ago.....great tune.
I suppose is you think the Oliver is Cromwell it explains the affection for the song.
I always thought it was a reference to Cromwell, too? He wasn't just a hero for the Right you know, Mahons, he chopped off a King's head after all.
