BBC Goes Paintballing With Terrorists
Such a cozy relationship the Beeb has with these fellows.
The BBC funded a paintballing trip for men later accused of Islamic terrorism and failed to pass on information about the 21/7 bombers to police, a court was told yesterday.
Mohammed Hamid, who is charged with overseeing a two-year radicalisation programme to prepare London-based Muslim youths for jihad, was described as a “cockney comic” by a BBC producer.
The BBC paid for Mr Hamid and fellow defendants Muhammad al-Figari and Mousa Brown to go on a paintballing trip at the Delta Force centre in Tonbridge, Kent, in February 2005. The men, accused of terrorism training, were filmed for a BBC programme called Don’t Panic, I’m Islamic, screened in June 2005.
The BBC paid Mr Hamid, an Islamic preacher who denies recruiting and grooming the men behind the failed July 2005 attack, a £300 fee to take part in the programme, Woolwich Crown Court was told.
It was alleged that Mr Hamid told a BBC reporter that he would use the corporation’s money to pay a fine imposed by magistrates for a public order offence.
Nasreen Suleaman, a researcher on the programme, told the court that Mr Hamid, 50, contacted her after the July 2005 attack and told her of his association with the bombers. But she said that she felt no obligation to contact the police with this information. Ms Suleaman said that she informed senior BBC managers but was not told to contact the police.
Ms Suleaman told the court that Mr Hamid was keen to appear in the programme. She said: “He was so up for it. We took the decision that paintballing would be a fun way of introducing him.
“There are many, many British Muslims that I know who for the past 15 or 20 years have been going paintballing. It’s a harmless enough activity. I don’t think there is any suggestion, or ever has been, that it’s a terrorist training activity.”
Really? Seems some people have heard of this before.
When Muhammed Aatique pleaded guilty on Sep. 23, 2003 to being part of northern Virginia jihad network, he acknowledged that the paintball games played by him and his fellow jihadists were "conducted as sort of a military training." Another member of the network, Nabil Gharbieh, told the court how Muslims regarded paintball as a form of jihad.
These admissions come to mind on learning that the Tampa branch of the Muslim American Society is hosting a paintball game today in Ocala, Florida.

Well - for me paintball games were always a lot good clean fun. I'm not a moslem jihadist bent on murdering infidels, though.

I think the 'leftist scum' he's referring to are the ones that effectively collude with the enemy. It is a bit strong though. I would reserve the term for leftists openly supporting terrorism
I think the BBC are guilty in this case more of naivete than mendacity.

Maybe because the BBC has a hard time identifying terrorists Monica. They prefer terms like freedom fighter and marginalized immigrant group.

I don't think it's naivete. The BBC obviously leans left, the moslems and the left interests converge on certain issues, therefore worthy of supporting in a lefty mindset. Is that naive, or just flat out stupid?? These are grown adults we're talking about here. Some people believe that the ends justify the means - - no matter what. That's not naive. It's shortsighted and spiteful and stupid.

You are way off beam. The BBC undoubtedly have a soft liberal mindset, but not for one moment do I think those who run it or even a small minority of them actually believe in the 'ends justify the means' if by that you are referring to support for al queda style mass terror killings.
Colm brings some well needed common sense to proceedings!

The BBC is pro-islamist, pro-Palestinian, pro-IRA, pro-EU, pro-UN and pro- any damned organisation which seeks to undermine freedom, patriotism, national sovereignty and traditional, conservative morality.
The BBC is not impartial or neutral. It's a publicly funded, urban organisation with an abnormally large number of young people, ethnic minorities and gay people. It has a liberal bias not so much a party-political bias. It is better expressed as a cultural liberal bias.

That's the part of the piece that really worrying to me. With whom does this woman's loyalty lie?
The BBC is PC's mouth-piece in the UK and it is disseminating its dangerous onsense throughout the world, especially in the Middle East.
Colm, it must be so nice to view the world through those rose-tinted spectacles. These people deliberately withheld information from the Police in the full knowledge that it was materially relevant - an actual admission of guilt no less - to a terrorism case. And you dismiss this as mere naivete. How can you not see that this was a deliberate decision to obstruct a criminal investigation?
They and everyone else involved should be facing charges of perverting the course of justice.

I didn't mention the woman who admitted she hadn't informed the police - which I absolutely agree is indefensiblt for which she should be prosecuted. I was referring to the higher BBC decision making process to have this paintballing programme with Muslims. It was an act of naivete not deliberate support for terrorism. I stand by my belief that the BBC leadership are not Islamic terror supporters, but I know that won't mean anything to Monica DSD and others who just view everything through such narrow fact free prejudiced extremes.
