THE PRICE OF REWARDING TERRORISM

You do not defeat terrorism by rewarding terrorists, regardless of how many bleeding heart liberals argue otherwise. Want to know where that flawed approach leads to? Read UNIONISM DECAYED 1997-2007 - It's my first book and it explains what happens when you seeek to appease terrorists and call it peace. It's available right now for ATW readers so make sure you get your copy by emailing the editor! This is the book that dissents from the herd mentality that doing wrong can lead to being right. It doesn't and this book spells out WHY.

BEAUTY GRADUATES....

I read thMiss London University beauty contest entrantsat hundreds of undergraduates in London have applied to take part in a beauty contest to be named Miss University London. The students will participate in heats in the hope of being one of only 15 who will reach the contest's grand final in February. However, the event has opened a split in London's university student body. Protesters say it is misogynistic and degrading, and should be banned. Participants and organisers have fiercely defended the competition. So, Beauty contests - degrading or empowering? I see nothing wrong in them in principle though would never watch one in practise since I have more constructive things to do with my time, but each to their own. What say you?

Maybe there's a future Sarah Palin in there.

They are all white too. Disgraceful.

Beauty pageants are dumb, but since it pisses off the feminists, there should be 100 times more of them.

Based on a few I know, dumb they ain't!

The winner must love animals and work towards world peace!

Flog them. Flog them without mercy.

Hey idiots, it's a woman's right to choose yes? No? Make up your tiny minds.

Anyway, more importantly, that naughty looking redhead, third from the left, that's the filly.

Not the contestants, the whole idea of such shows.

But there's a place for fluff, so yes, long may it run.

As far as I'm concerned, rounding up a load of crumpet and putting it on show is a high point of Civilisation.

Why is it degrading to be openly admired and put on a pedestal by men?

Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 07:23PM | Unregistered CommenterPatty

Perhaps there should be an ATW beauty contest?

Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 07:31PM | Registered CommenterThe Phantom

Scouseproud - that's old hat. It's not about loving animals & world peace but eating halal and the global world order.

Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 07:42PM | Unregistered Commenterbernard

no, all wrong. They must oppose global warming and be in favor of the environment continuing to exist.

Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 07:44PM | Registered CommenterThe Phantom

Or marrying Bruce Forsyth?

I don't care just so long as the fat smirking Terry Wogan isn't chosen to adjudicate....bejabers !

"Anyway, more importantly, that naughty looking redhead, third from the left, that's the filly."

Naw, the sixth from the left, the girl in the blue dress hugging the blonde. She'd get my vote.

There is nothing wrong with admiring the form of the fairer sex. Also, considering that they are all university graduates would probably indicate that they aren't stupid at all.

The operative word being probably

Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 08:00PM | Registered CommenterThe Phantom

Indeed, but I would imagine that at least some of them aren't doing Mickey Mouse courses.

'Participants and organisers have fiercely defended the competition. So, Beauty contests - degrading or empowering'

David, I think they can be empowering, so long as they are not over-sexualised and dumbed down for the purposes of appealing to the males :-)

The girl furthest to the left is stunning- not least her dress- what I can see of it.

LOl Scouseprod, LOL

Now he's some beaut!

"protesters say it is misogynistic and degrading, and should be banned."

Why can't student politicians ever oppose something without demanding that it be banned? Voltaire is out of fashion I guess.

The first 3 girls from the left look like Nadine Sarah and Nicola from Girls Aloud.

Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 08:56PM | Unregistered CommenterColm

Yes Colm on second look that first n left does look like Nadine Coyle.

Though I don't think Nadine has that 'willowy' look that I admired the girl in the picture for.

Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 09:02PM | Unregistered Commenterpinky

Yes Nadine is a bit more hard faced isn't she. Nicola was nicknamed 'the minger' in girls aloud which I think was unfair.

Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 09:05PM | Unregistered CommenterColm

They're ALL beautiful looking girls. Smart too, I'm sure. Now where are by heart tablets!

Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 10:06PM | Unregistered CommenterSamuel

Definitely 7th, 6th & 2nd from the left for me, [in that order].

Stunning

I always remenmber the line from the Kingsley Amis novel Lucky Jim:

"Nice things are nicer than nasty things every day of the week."

So go beauty queens!

Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 11:50PM | Unregistered CommenterPeter

All nice ladies everywhere like to be admired and looked upon as attractive and sexy, and there's nothing wrong with that.

In Texas, this would be a picture of the losers!

In Texas they would be Old Maids.
