THE PRICE OF REWARDING TERRORISM

You do not defeat terrorism by rewarding terrorists, regardless of how many bleeding heart liberals argue otherwise. Want to know where that flawed approach leads to? Read UNIONISM DECAYED 1997-2007 - It's my first book and it explains what happens when you seeek to appease terrorists and call it peace. It's available right now for ATW readers so make sure you get your copy by emailing the editor! This is the book that dissents from the herd mentality that doing wrong can lead to being right. It doesn't and this book spells out WHY.

ENVIRONMENTALISM LEADS TO STARVATION...

Biofuels have forced global food prices up by 75% - far more than previously estimated - according to a confidential World Bank report. The damning unpublished assessment is based on the most detailed analysis of the crisis so far, carried out by an internationally-respected economist at global financial body. Rising food prices have pushed 100m people worldwide below the poverty line, estimates the World Bank, and have sparked riots from Bangladesh to Egypt. Government ministers here have described higher food and fuel prices as "the first real economic crisis of globalisation". Biofuels, you will recall, have been pushed relentlessly by the environmental movement and governments as the way forward. The price paid is 100m people now below the poverty level.

This ties in well with the news that two well known Dutch food companies have caved-in to islamic demands to distance themselves from the 'Fitna' video, or suffer a boycott from islamic countries.

Nice timing, you food-riot-torn 3rd worlder bozos.
Pity the Dutch are so gutless.

Sorry about the long link, but I don't know how to do the colour-highlight thingy.

By some in "the environmental movement". Many others have been sceptical from the start, pointing to the fact that rainforest was being cleared in Brazil and Indonesia to grow fuel crops, as well as the obvious implications for food production in other countries.

Let's be clear. The reason that Bush has given bio-fuels a big push is to reduce the dependence of the USA on Arab oil. It has little if anything to do with environmental concerns, which have been notable by their almost complete absence from his administration.

Peter,

As ever you make a fair point. I agree. But there are a vociferous section within the environmentalist lobby that pusged this remorselessly - and are now executing mega-u turns.

first of all Bush has not pushed biofuels the congress has, and people like tom daschel and others are getting rich on the subsidies
