EXCLUSIVE IS GOOD!
I see that The Archbishop of Wales, Dr Barry Morgan, has said that practising homosexuals should not be barred from becoming bishops. He accused conservative Anglicans of being “exclusive” and narrow-minded in their opposition to gay clerics. His comments, which come on the eve of the Lambeth Conference - the Anglican communion’s ten-yearly gathering of bishops - are set to inflame the bitter controversy over homosexuality. I can but hope so.
You see I agree with him. I think that "conservative" Anglicans should be exclusive and narrow-minded. That's a GOOD thing when it comes to matters spiritual. You see Christ did not take preach that you can do whatever you want, let it all hang out and and that it doesn't matter. It DOES MATTER. Now whether you hold Christian views are not is irrelevant to the point I am making - namely that faith does by necessity require the embrace of stated values - and whether gay activists like it or not, sodomite Bishops ain't one of them. So thanks Bishop Morgan - God works in mysterious ways.

There is a shortage of young men coming forward to train as priests so the Church would rather take on Queers to the exclusion of women. Yeah right. Oh sorry was that the politically incorrect word - I meant, of course, gays.
A shortage of vocations, so lets hire guys who don't believe in the Bible and who openly disobey it. Yes, thats the way to save the Anglicans. No wonder the pews are empty
Phantom that is not the reason the pews are empty. The reason for that is secularisation. The homosexuality debate in the church is quite recent. The US gay bishop at the centre of it all has been barred from the conference, but says he will go anyway. He should respect the bar. Having said that it does take committment to go and say your piece in the face of such opposition. He sounded pretty reasonable.
Shouldn't the Anglicans be able to figure it out for themselves? I mean I am not Anglican so I am not about to suggest who they name as their Bishops.
However, one imagines that Jesus actually might prefer a "queer" Bishop to use Maggie's word , to a Bishop who would condone as Christian Maggie's suggestion elsewhere today of blowing refugees (men women and children) out of the water who seek the simple things Christ seemed to ask us to do (I was hungry you gave me food, I was thirtsty you gave me to drink, I was naked you clothed me etc).
But maybe Maggie, like me, isn't an Anglican either.
Considering the Anglican church already allows women priests and has just voted for women Bishops but still has an official ban on 'practising' homosexuals being ordained to any office , Maggie is just plaiin wrong.
