THE PRICE OF REWARDING TERRORISM

You do not defeat terrorism by rewarding terrorists, regardless of how many bleeding heart liberals argue otherwise. Want to know where that flawed approach leads to? Read UNIONISM DECAYED 1997-2007 - It's my first book and it explains what happens when you seeek to appease terrorists and call it peace. It's available right now for ATW readers so make sure you get your copy by emailing the editor! This is the book that dissents from the herd mentality that doing wrong can lead to being right. It doesn't and this book spells out WHY.

HAPPINESS TAX?

It is an article of faith amongst the hard left that using one's god-given talents to earn as much income as possible is a sin. Sot I read that people taking home more than £100,000 a year should pay higher tax rates, the Trades Union Congress has suggested. General secretary Brendan Barber said extreme wealth was "socially divisive and morally objectionable". Oh really? The TUC says higher tax rates should be imposed on earnings between £100,000-£150,000 and over £200,000. (I presume he feels the 40% tax taken at the moment is way too low and years to see it go back to the 92% it previously was under Labour back in the 1970's)e

Let me say three things to Comrade Barber.

1. I think progressive income tax "is socially diviise and morally objectionable". Why SHOULD the State be able to grab 40% or  more of my income just because I happen to work hard and successfully enough to bring in a figure that is greater than average? It's State administered theft.

2. The TUC are socialist scum  but they have regrouped after Thatcher broke them and now have a Labour administration that is financially in thrall to them. Great danger lies in store for our nation if these loons are listened to.

3. True wealth is measured in money. My grandmother, my father ..they had little financial wealth but they gave me things money cannot buy. Love, compassion, kindness --- you just cannot price those things and yet they are what truly make us rich. I am sure if the TUC could find a way they would seek to impose a happiness tax.

what about 40% taxpayers who use their net after-tax income for giving, unknown to the government? a revival of private charitable giving would do much for the nation, though if people want to keep their own money then that should be up to them

£100,000 per year is not "extreme wealth" for an individual, and certainly not for a family. It's more than most people earn, but it surely doesn't give you the lifestyle of "extreme wealth".

And its noted that everyone I know that makes that much has sacrificed greatly to attain it and to keep it. If the grasping tax man goes to confiscatory rate levels, it will be a lot easier to say to hell with it and not work the 80 hours and endure the stress that it usually takes to get to that income level.
