THE PRICE OF REWARDING TERRORISM

You do not defeat terrorism by rewarding terrorists, regardless of how many bleeding heart liberals argue otherwise. Want to know where that flawed approach leads to? Read UNIONISM DECAYED 1997-2007 - It's my first book and it explains what happens when you seeek to appease terrorists and call it peace. It's available right now for ATW readers so make sure you get your copy by emailing the editor! This is the book that dissents from the herd mentality that doing wrong can lead to being right. It doesn't and this book spells out WHY.

HAROLD PINTER

I see that much hyped British playwright Harold Pinter died over the Christmas period. The UK media has lavished praise on this guy as in the linked example.

Here are a few of Pinter's thoughts I want to share with you.

"The 911 atrocity in New York was predictable and inevitable. It was an act of retaliation against constant and systematic manifestations of state terrorism on the part of the United States over many years, in all parts of the world..." Pinter described America as "a country run by a bunch of criminal lunatics"

He also stated..

‘The USA is intent on controlling the world and the world’s resources.’ and ‘Bush is on a par with Saddam.’

And then, there are the Jews.

‘Israel’s injustice to the Palestinians is an outrage.’ He added that Israel possesses weapons of mass destruction "and has used them"

You can see why the British media just loved dear Harold.

It's my view that is best not to speak ill of the dead. So I will say nothing about Pinter.

Good.

Hearing that this old worshipper of despots and mass murderers had snuffed it on Christmas Day was a splendid news.

"It's my view that is best not to speak ill of the dead. So I will say nothing about Pinter."

Then I'll say it DAVID since I have NO such hang-ups.

Pintner, like his Muslim loving pal Galloway was (thankfully) an ars*hole of the highest order.

I hope the cancer killed him slowly and painfully.

Here's a little part of what he was defending:

The British media? Um, David, his death was all over mainstream American press and not designed to heap on him rebuke either. You ought to read wider than the British media. If they hate the US so much and just so generally, why did they lavish praise on Obama.

Here is the long gushing NYT piece which at least attempts to draw a distinction between loathing America and loathing recent American foreign policy and the Bush administration.

If you want to condemn a generalistic spiteful propagandist hater with a platform to preach it is best not to become one yourself.

His membership of the "International Committee to Defend Slobodan Milosevic" was despicable. He had no set of principles other than a deep and xenophobic hatred of the United States which is why he was willing to support a genocidal thug as long as he was anti-American.

Enormous talent. A caring, compassionate, principled man who was affronted by the injustices he saw in the world and wasn't afraid to say it.

RIP

A lot of his views were ill thought out, to put it geneously.

The idea of him being an anti-semite is absolutely ridiculous. David, with respect you would have done better to remove that paragraph or rephrase it - it would have been substantially better for your credibility - PINTER WAS JEWISH

However, regardless of this he was a rare talent in theatre. RIP.

I know less about his plays than I do about his political stance, but I accept the wisdom of those better informed than me that he was a great and influential playwright.

Andy, there are many self-loathing/non-religous Jews. Better that these people had never been born in the first place.

"His membership of the "International Committee to Defend Slobodan Milosevic" was despicable. >>Andy, there are many self-loathing/non-religous Jews.<<

What makes you think Pinter was "self-loathing", William?

Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 01:48PM | Unregistered CommenterNOEL CUNNINGHAM

Noel, were you dropped on your head as a baby??
I'd pretty much consider any Jew who constantly criticises Israel's anti-terror efforts as self-loathing.

Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 01:52PM | Unregistered CommenterWilliam (Dublin)

William

Then you clearly don't know what self-loathing means .

>>I'd pretty much consider any Jew who constantly criticises Israel's anti-terror efforts as self-loathing.<<

You are making two very silly assumptions there, William.

But as your comments suggest you're probably still unable to count to two, I won't bother enumerating them for you.

Next time try to respond with something more than an insult, why do you love violent Islamacists so much Noel???

That Troll syndrome of hitting out and then going all soft is catching on apparently.

>>why do you love violent Islamacists so much Noel???<<

Next time try to respond with something more than an insult or a straw man, William.

You still haven't answered my question....

"I'd pretty much consider any Jew who constantly criticises Israel's anti-terror efforts as self-loathing."

Any Jew who constantly criticises Judaism is a self loathing Jew. Any Jew who constantly criticises Israel is simply a non-Zionist Jew. There is a difference between Israel and Judaism.

William

Youa re the one who needs to explain why Harold Pinter was self-loathing, and why you think Jews who fail to share your political views should never have been born.

Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 02:36PM | Unregistered CommenterColm

I took a quick look at one of the kooky 9/11 Truther sites.

They have a loving remembrance of Harold Pinter

By their friends ye shall know them.

He wasn't aligned with that set Phantom. You're being unfair.

Colm, the film version of Betrayal is quite good. Of course it stars the hunky Jeremy Irons, (which is the only reason I watched it).

RIP Pinter. A thought provoking political commentator when the world needed one.

Pinter was a second rate playwright and a champagne socialist political commentator with his head up his arse. Basically he was a nob. Good riddance to bad shite. Hope the toilet chain of life flushes him out the back end to nowhere.

Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 05:38PM | Unregistered CommenterJames

I take it you didn't really like Mr Pinter very much James. Regardless of his politics In what way artistically was he a second rate Playwright ?.

"Pinter was a second rate playwright and a champagne socialist political commentator with his head up his arse. Basically he was a nob. Good riddance to bad shite. Hope the toilet chain of life flushes him out the back end to nowhere."

Well said James, I'm glad this commie moral equivalence nonsense hasn't infected the minds of everyone on this blogsite.

Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 06:07PM | Unregistered CommenterWilliam (Dublin)

Clearly James in a literary critic who's opinion on Pinter's work is to be greatly valued! :)))

Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 06:30PM | Unregistered CommenterPetr Tarasov

'whose opinion...' :)

Continuously hoisted with my own petard!

Here it is again, sans typos:

Clearly James is a literary critic whose opinion on Pinter's work is to be greatly valued!

Andy,

Oh I know Pinter was Jewish but he was one of those Jews for a second holocaust that the media love.

Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 06:41PM | Unregistered CommenterDavid Vance

Surely criticising Israel is not "being for a second holocaust"?

Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 09:27PM | Unregistered CommenterAndy

Andy,

Quite, but Pinter went WAY beyond mere criticism. He sided with those to seek to wipe Israel off the map. Now, he is off the map.

Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 09:38PM | Unregistered CommenterDavid Vance

Some of the comments above say more about the commentators than about Pinter. Sick, childish and hateful are three words that come to mind. And that's just James, oh, and William too.

Pinter was first and foremost a playright, and the most eminent of his time. He was also a screenplay writer, and among his credits is The Go-Between starring Alan Bates and Julie Christie.

His political views were well-known, and personally I find his anti-Americanism slightly insane. But his politics are not apparent in his work, for which he will be remembered for a long time.

Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 09:44PM | Unregistered CommenterPeter

Pinter was born a Jew but gave up the faith at the age of 13.....I read a two-page article on him in one of today's papers....he was a champagne socialist, womaniser [7 year affair with the married Joan Bakewell] and stole one of Lord Longford's daughters, Lady Antonia Fraser from his Tory MP husband, Sir Hugh. He had a certain talent but was a very mixed up and misguided person. His hatred of America and the values that it espoused was legendary and his writings were self-biographical in many ways...

Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 10:25PM | Unregistered CommenterWilliam

Correction: '......from 'her' Tory MP husband.....'

Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 10:26PM | Unregistered CommenterWilliam

William

Stay in your comfort zone by all means. By "misguided" you seem to mean that Pinter did not share your politics.

Pinter was not perfect, but perhaps you are?

Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 11:07PM | Unregistered CommenterPeter

>>and stole one of Lord Longford's daughters, Lady Antonia Fraser from his Tory MP husband, Sir Hugh.<<

Pinter didn't steal her - she left her husband.
Would you not want to get well away from someone who was drawing you into bomb attacks?!
