BARBIE dolls dressed in burkhas are among 500 to be auctioned to help raise money for Save the Children as part of the worldwide celebration of the toy’s 50th anniversary.
The UK’s biggest Barbie fan, company director Angela Ellis, 35, who has a collection of more than 250 dolls, said: “I think this is a great idea. This is really important for girls. Wherever they are from, they should have the opportunity to play with a Barbie that they feel represents them. “I know Barbie was seen as bad before as an image for girls, but in fact the message with Barbie for women is you can be whatever you want to be.”

Rosie Shannon, of Save the Children, said all proceeds from the auction, which is being conducted by Sotheby’s auctioneer Filippo Lotti, will go to the charity.
Oh - so THAT makes this gross act of dhimmitude OK then? Can we look forward to genitally mutilated Barbie, how about honour killing Barbie?

....Except to say that if they are willing to make Barbie into a Burka wearer, will Action Man now be forced to don a head dress and strap something heavy around his waist??
