IN THE CROSS FIRE...
I remember being sickened by this story when it happened and if anything this latest news makes it even worse. I refer to the death of the nursing care assistant who was caught in the crossfire between two youths in London. Magda Pniewska, 26, was shot in the head in New Cross, south London, in October last year. The youth, who cannot be named, said he let off a couple of shots into the air to scare the other youth off. He denied murder and attempted murder. The second teenager was also arrested but not charged, the Old Bailey heard. Ms Pniewska had been talking to her sister Elzbieta Luby in Poland on her mobile phone when she was shot and died. Giving evidence, Ms Luby said she heard three or four shots before she heard her sister's "last breath"
Several points. It makes me feel ashamed that such a fate could befall this Polish girl - so full of life one moment - stone dead the next at the hands of feral scum. And I feel so sorry for her sister having to hear Magda's "last breath." Nobody deserves this and I only hope that those responsible are put away for a long time. I bet they won't, however, and it is to our shame. Poor Magda - you were failed by this State and it makes me feel ill. What more can I say?

To police credit the youths were tracked and arrested. As are most of these murderers and yet on ATW they are constantly lambasted as 'useless'.
Two days ago in south London a man in a suit smashed 2 women over the head with bottles and stole their shopping. Again the police had him in custody within 24 hours.
Last week police tracked and arrested a group of youths on a bus in south London armed with an assortment of weaponry including claw hammers, baseball bats and knives.
Then they turn up in the court system and some silly arse judge and some silly arse sollictor will get them off and have them back out on the streets in weeks. Or failing that wait til they are locked up and then consider the human rights implications.
Or better yet stick them in a system that doesn't punish them - one which even the juvenile inmates will tell you is a walk in the park.
But you cannot criticise the legal system eh. It sits above us all and represents The Rule of Law.
What a joke.
The legal system is a huge problem. no doubt. I suppose on this one I just feel sor sad for Magda and her family that I haven't the anger to say much about anything else.
These scum are the best argument for abortion on demand that you could ever get. If only his mother had done the right thing 17 years ago.
David - it was a heartfelt post and you are right to get angry about it. Because noone else does. Part of the reason i keep coming back to ATW.
I just think it must do your head in to be in the police see these scum rounded up and then spat out again at some point by the legal system. What is the point.
They just found him guilty btw. Now what we will get is a sentence which doesn't mean what it is supposed to mean. And some human rights vulture in on appeal now or sometime in the future.

It didn't surprise me in the least to read today that two of the scum who kicked Gary Newlove to death outside his front door have been granted leave to appeal against their so-called "life" sentences.
And they will get it too. Our legal system sucks.
