THE PRICE OF REWARDING TERRORISM

You do not defeat terrorism by rewarding terrorists, regardless of how many bleeding heart liberals argue otherwise. Want to know where that flawed approach leads to? Read UNIONISM DECAYED 1997-2007 - It's my first book and it explains what happens when you seeek to appease terrorists and call it peace. It's available right now for ATW readers so make sure you get your copy by emailing the editor! This is the book that dissents from the herd mentality that doing wrong can lead to being right. It doesn't and this book spells out WHY.

IN THE FACE OF DEATH

Here are the awful details of what actually happened in Antrim on Saturday night...

"The pizza delivery boy was wounded as the gunmen opened fire but told how he was saved by one of the unarmed squaddies throwing himself on top of him.

Domino’s driver Anthony Watson, 19, said in hospital: “The soldiers shouted for us to ‘get down’ before I even knew what was happening. Then one of the soldiers just threw himself on top of me as the bullets were still firing.”

A pal told how the teenager — nicknamed Anto — owed his life to the courageous squaddie.

The horrified friend said: “The guy with the gun then just walked over and executed the soldier as he lay on top of Anto.”

Three more shots were also pumped into terrified Anthony.

A fellow Domino’s worker from Poland — who had arrived by chance with a second pizza delivery — was shot SEVEN times. Two of the dead soldiers’ comrades were also wounded.

Irish Republican savagery and British Army courage.

Even in the face of death, the British Army soldiers showed incredible courage. Their families should be proud of them - but justice must be done and the republican killers brought to justice.

There is no greater love than to give one's life for another. He's a hero in the truest sense of the word.

"The White House was swift to condemn the shootings.

Its Northern Ireland spokesman Robert Wood said: “Our condolences go out to the families of the slain soldiers.

“We call on all parties in Northern Ireland to unequivocally reject such senseless acts of violence.”

What a weak statement!

unless the irish people, and by that i mean those from the nationalist and republican community, stand up against these scum, n.ireland will always be plagued by them. The law abiding nationalist and republican needs to disown these murders and publicly demonstrate they do not want a united ireland through violence.

the ball rests with the nationalist and republican communities, unless they take a stand against the thugs who commit murder in their name, n.ireland/ireland will never be at peace.

edit - "disown these murderers"

'The law abiding nationalist and republican needs to disown these murders and publicly demonstrate they do not want a united ireland through violence.'

They already have, overwhelmingly.

Monday, March 9, 2009 at 04:31PM | Unregistered CommenterGUBA

Disown them? How do they 'own' them? It seems you think this is partly the ordinary irish person's fault.

But you're close on one thing... Ireland will never be at peace whilst artificially partitioned to placate the demands of a colonial minority who view themselves as superior to the irish.

Thank you Jaz. I had help with that first line!

Monday, March 9, 2009 at 04:34PM | Unregistered CommenterCharles in Texas

guba,

the gfa was 10 years ago and it also included the voice of unionism, these terrorists would argue that things have changed since then. that's why the nationalist and republican communities need to be more outspoken against them.

Monday, March 9, 2009 at 04:38PM | Unregistered CommenterUlster-Scot

Perhaps if there were no British troops in Ireland then they wouldn't be getting shot???

Monday, March 9, 2009 at 04:41PM | Unregistered CommenterAnon

Perhaps if there weren't any terrorists in NI they wouldn't be getting shot either.

Monday, March 9, 2009 at 04:43PM | Unregistered CommenterCharles in Texas

Ahh but its their presence which creates such people Charles, or don't you realise that?

Monday, March 9, 2009 at 04:45PM | Unregistered CommenterMount Zion

No guarantee that these murders were not sanctioned by the security services and police. It suits their causes and does nothing for Irish Republicanism. A couple of thugs could not have carried out this operation without information and assistance from people very high up.

Monday, March 9, 2009 at 04:46PM | Unregistered CommenterMichael

"It seems you think this is partly the ordinary irish person's fault."

Mount Zion, no I don't. fact remains, the ordinary irish person (nationalist/republican) should speak up more against these attrocities carried out in their name. these terrorists believe they are fulfilling the wishes of the ordinary Irish man/woman by removing 'British occupation'

"But you're close on one thing... Ireland will never be at peace whilst artificially partitioned to placate the demands of a colonial minority who view themselves as superior to the irish."

I see you still travel by horse and cart.

Monday, March 9, 2009 at 04:47PM | Unregistered CommenterUlster-Scot

"Perhaps if there were no British troops in Ireland then they wouldn't be getting shot???"

Anon, many Irish/Scots/Welsh and English are the British troops. Why do think they deserve to get shot?

Monday, March 9, 2009 at 04:50PM | Unregistered CommenterUlster-Scot

'should speak up more against'

What would you like them to do? I take it unionisms refusal to march against british army and loyalist violence means they supported/support it here and elsewhere round the world? (Thats your logic)

At least you don't deny the mentality of unionism. And horse and cart is the era where that ideology belongs, melting like the rest of britains colonial glacier.

Monday, March 9, 2009 at 04:51PM | Unregistered CommenterMount Zion

Words fail David. Pure heroism. (Thank you Charles)

Monday, March 9, 2009 at 04:56PM | Unregistered Commenteralison

Good to see more terrorists removed from our country Afganastan and Ireland will be there blood bases no more.

Michael, it benefits IRA/Sinn Fein. They now have more clout within the Republican community to label the dissidents as simply criminals. These murders continue to elevate IRA/Sinn fein's status from terrorist to statesman. From an IRA/Sinn Fein perspective they are an important necessity to changing perceptions and changing history.

I see you've scrapped the bottom of the barrel and can't debate the issue at hand without using a tit-for-tat debate? Anyhow, your comparison to compare the British army with dissident terrorists is stupid and shows where you stand as a person. I would have debated further with you if you had compared the British army to the Irish Army, who are also stationed around the world.

Thankfully, it only took me a few posts to understand how you see terrorists. goodbye troll.

if you now or ever in the past have said hoorah for the IRA/SF than you are in support of these events period there is no way around that fact

You should have also mentioned the spelling, or rather lack of....

Monday, March 9, 2009 at 05:17PM | Registered CommenterMike Cunningham

Yes, I'd thought of that.

The logic and inhumanity, too.

You could conduct an entire seminar on what's wrong with Ryan's nineteen words.

Perhaps we can have a remedial writing class for him, at his expense. later on in the year.

Have the irish army a colonial history? Do they have a history of collusion in colonial wars? It seems you wish to compare oil with water.

Monday, March 9, 2009 at 05:38PM | Unregistered CommenterMount Zion

Look, it doesn't take an idiot to realize that the British army have a far more bloody past than the Provisional IRA. The PIRA and their dissedents are small fry in the mass-murder stakes.

David, where do you get these cranks from? they have no sense of time or history. Next, they'll be telling you the island has always been called Ireland, it's inhabitants are all Irish and they all spoke Gaelic.

total whack-o's the lot of them.

I note the usual republican terrorist luvies are out of the woodwork.

They just can't forget the good old days, bent over in the 'H' Block showers while the OC did a hands-free inspection of their postbox.

Monday, March 9, 2009 at 05:54PM | Unregistered CommenterBillyo

'they have no sense of time or history. '

History did not start 30 years ago; my recommendation - read a history book.

'they'll be telling you the island has always been called Ireland,'

It has been called Eire or a similar name for thousands of years.

'total whack-o's the lot of them.'

You are the delusional one here. As i said, the British armies history is far, far more bloody than any Irish group. Even if you want to focus on the last Century, the British army committed far more atrocities than any IRA. That is a simple fact and if you had paid attention at school, you would know it by now.

What a trgically noble end and in such a stark contrast this young man makes with those who slaughtered him.

I hope Anthony Watson gets the right support and not just for any physical injuries.

Monday, March 9, 2009 at 06:48PM | Unregistered Commenteraileen

It is desperately sad that after the murder of 2 unarmed men and the serious wounding or 4 others, including 2 civilians, one of whom is a Pole who came here for a better life, some people here feel the need to engage in political point scoring.

If people cannot simply condemn the attack without political point scoring and making provocative statements then they are exposed as the most filthy kind of bigot.

Monday, March 9, 2009 at 06:51PM | Unregistered Commenternrg

Ulster Scot.

Where do I get them??? Like moths to a flame!!!

Monday, March 9, 2009 at 07:02PM | Unregistered CommenterDavid Vance

I haven't posted to ATW since yesterday. Reason: I find it more than unseemly that the corpses of two young men are hardly cold and we have so much point-scoring being conducted over their heads—and speciously in their names.

For shame! Do give it a rest.

Why no quote from our latest 'knight' - Sir Teddy Kennedy? Surely he must have some suitable comment to appease these murderers...

Cahuna

Kennedy has his faults, but ( as was noted by others here ) he was never in favor of violence, and was heavily criticized by some for it over the years.
