memory is a funny thing!
I read with some sense of Schadenfreude that our Hilary is not the only one suffering from a certain over-eager imagination, to place her memories of being shot at when she was actually being given a civic reception in Bosnia, or Hollywood. We now learn that the saintly Barack Hussein Obama has been caught out over-egging the few facts he can string together to demonstrate that he and his daddy knew everyone whenever!
Apparently, our Barack Hussein ( I always like to give people their full names, because then you know who
and what you are writing about) claimed that his daddy, Barack Obama Sr. had arrived in America courtesy of the Kennedys and their well-know affection for all things "black and downtrodden", (my emphasis). He based his claim on the efforts of one Tom Mboya, who had raised some 250,000.00 dollars for a second tranche of allegedly deserving elite students from East Africa including Kenya to study in America, as he was trying to repeat what he had done in 1959, but was short of cash for the transport side of things, and the airlines weren't giving freebies that particular year. Mboya approached the Kennedys, and achieved his funding of $100,000.00 to help transport the alleged elite far from their homes, to study in the Land of the Free.
But the sting in the tail comes when it was revealed that Barack Obama Sr. had in fact arrived on the first flight in 1959, promptly moved to Hawaii, where he married Barack Junior's Mom. So he had actually no connection whatsoever with any Kennedy, but what politician would deny that the aura surrounding the Kennedys, faded and blemished as it is these days by the truth, is a mighty thing to be able to wrap around yourself?
Our Barack (Jr. not Sr.) has also claimed a close relationship between the civil rights movement in Selma, Alabama, and his birth; saying "There was something stirring across the country because of what happened in Selma, Alabama, because some folks are willing to march across a bridge. So they got together and Barack Obama Junior was born. So don't tell me I don't have a claim on Selma, Alabama."
When bloggers pointed out that the Selma Bridge incident happened four years after Obama's birth, a 'spokesman' said that the Senator was referring to the civil rights movement in general, and not any one specific incident!
Just as an afterthought, but in direct descent from those flights carrying the so-called elite to new places of learning so as to govern Kenya wisely when they returned, how many marks out of ten would you give them for this?
