The gang rape victim from Saudi Arabia who outrageously has been sentenced to jail time and lashes has spoken out.

Sure doesn't sound like she's copping to adultery, as the oil ticks claimed last week.

I see that rates of sexually transmitted diseases in Northern Ireland have reached an all-time high. Cases of syphilis, gonorrhoea and genital herpes all increased in 2006, with chlamydia infections up by a fifth, a fresh report said. Experts blamed the surge on young people ignoring the safe sex message and warned of future fertility and pregnancy dangers.

Personally, I put the blame on the rise of an "anything goes" post-Christian society where no one can be judgemental and all forms of behaviour are equally acceptable. I ALSO think that the same "experts" who decry these new stats will be the same people urging for primary school kids to be "educated" into the realms of sex education. We have sexualised childhood, we have accepted the idea that all forms of behaviour are fine, and too many young people show a shocking lack of respect for themselves.

Did you read that the British singer who sang the Croatian anthem before the football game against England accidentally sang 'My penis is a mountain'? Tony Henry was trying to sing the national anthem in Croatian, but reportedly got the words wrong. Fans say the mispronounciation helped the players relax before the game at Wembley where Croatia beat England 3-2. The national anthem is written in old style Croatian, and there can be slightly different interpretations in English because it is a very lyrical language. The line in which Henry slipped up should have been "mila kuda si planina" (You know my dear how we love your mountains). But what he actually sang was "mila kura si planina" which means "Dear Penis, you are a Mountain" or "My Dear, my penis is a mountain".

The thing about our OWN National anthem is its' less obvious to see how such a mistake could be made!

I note that the largest number of criminals so far were released from jail early under "emergency measures" last month.

Prisons in England and Wales freed 2,612 offenders before the end of their sentences, a spokesman for the Ministry of Justice said. The monthly total was 120 higher than the previous highest figure in August. Labour introduced the so-called "end of custody licence" scheme in June as the prison population in England and Wales reached crisis point. Offenders can be set free 18 days before the end of their sentences to create space in the crowded jails. From when the scheme began at the end of June to the end of October, 11,132 offenders have been freed early. The total includes 2,039 violent offenders, four sexual offenders, 226 robbers and 1,052 burglars.

In October, officials recalled to prison 99 of the criminals who had been freed, including 34 for alleged re-offending. Since the beginning of the scheme, officials have tried to recall 385 offenders in total, but of those 75 are still on the run.

I dare say if YOU happened to be at the receiving end of these early-released convicts you mightn't feel so pleased about this "end of custody" wheeze dreamed up by gutless politicians and spineless bureaucrats and Prison staff.  

Israel PM Ehud Olmert really is the most pathetic political specimen. I was reading that he has warned that failure to negotiate a two-state solution with the Palestinians would spell the end of the State of Israel. He warned of a "South African-style struggle" which Israel would lose if a Palestinian state was not established.

What he is not saying is that the "Two-State" model which Condi and the gang are retailing will in itself advance the demise of Israel since the creation of a terror state on its (reduced) borders can only further motivate Palestinians to kill and terrorise. Hamas will pocket whatever goodies come the way of Fatah, and then crush Fatah. Then Hamas will further their stated ambition to drive the Jews into the sea. Olmert is a weak unpopular political figure, a David Trimble with a star of David, bolstered up with faux peace photo-ops with Bush and Abbas - and he will be swept from power come the next election. At that point, I sincerely trust the two-State solution will be knocked on the head once and for all. The arabists in US State dream of creating a terror state next door to its one true ally in the Middle East but if it succeeds it will be a nightmare.

I was reading about two students who were suspended for ten days this week at Lee’s Summit West High School in Kansas City, Missouri, for allegedly using racial slurs. The students, one of whom is nearly an Eagle Scout, did not use the dreaded “n-word,” nor did they say anything that was derogatory or racially offensive. Rather a group of students were having a conversation about what knots to use when tying drum equipment when the other “n-word” came up—“noose.”

A black student overheard the conversation and told a teacher that he was offended. Clearly, these boys did nothing wrong. This ridiculous incident is yet another example of the “tolerance” of liberals’ beloved political correctness run amok. In reality—unfamiliar territory for liberals—political correctness, which is designed to undermine people’s rights to liberty and freedom of speech, is coming dangerously close to muting all conversation lest it be misconstrued as offensive. We can only imagine the next forbidden n-word.

I had to laugh at this story! 

A Strippergram student accused of carrying offensive weapons has gone on trial today.

Stuart Kennedy, 24, who works part-time as a strippergram, was arrested after performing at a bar in Aberdeen dressed as a police officer. Mr Kennedy, a genetics student, denies three charges of having an offensive weapon in a public place. It is alleged he had two batons and a spray with him on March 17 this year at Aberdeen's Bon Accord Street.

 

On what serious basis has this man been arrested? Surely to goodness Aberdeen police have BETTER things to be doing than pursuing this pointless prosecution?

Well, it's Friday evening and I am back at ATW central having been away for the past few days. So here's a musical choice - not enough songs in waltz rhythm folks...a great ballad with wit and sensitivity!

 

Another debate for the Republican Presidential nominee was televised by CNN Wednesday night.    I watched the debates and I found the Republican candidates compelling in many instances.    No thanks to CNN, however.

According to CNN,  the Republican-base is comprised of Christian literalists and racists who  care deeply about waving  the pre-Civil War Confederate flag.  Consider the following silly and condescending questions the Republican candidates were asked to ponder:

What would Jesus do?
Do you believe every word in the Bible?
Should the Confederate flag be allowed to wave?

As if this framing of the Republicans as cartoony racists and “Bible-beaters” wasn’t enough, CNN also featured questioners who were not “undecided voters”  at all......but Democrat supporters, operatives, and activists!  For example:

-  Keith Kerr, a retired military officer, was given several minutes to lecture the audience regarding his position on gay rights in the military. It turns out he is a gay rights activist and a Hillary/Kerry supporter.

- The Muslim questioner is a former CAIR intern.

- The Log Cabin Republican (a Republican gay rights group) is actually an Obama supporter.

-  The lady with 2 children worried about toys from China is also a prominent union activist for the Edwards endorsing United Steelworkers union.

Etc. etc.  The list grows as  questioners are exposed and  is well documented by Michelle Malkin.

The Republican  debates are ostensibly meant to reveal nominee positions and past voting records on issues pertinent to the Republican voter so that when actual voting starts, Republican voters are informed.

CNN proves, yet again, that it is a lefty-biased network, and that it is primarily interested in  providing a platform for  Democratic policy pitches well in advance of the general election.

I guess we'll know in a few weeks - that's if the charming parents of the kids Gillian Gibbons was teaching don't get her first.

The fact that the 2008 Republican Resistance calendar, which has images of gunmen and gunwomen, is being sold in the outlet beside IRA/Sinn Fein's party’s headquarters on the Falls Road in west Belfast should surprise NO ONE.

IRA/Sinn Fein are PROUD of their terrorism, of their killing, of their barbarism and the fact that they sell a calendar glorifying in the imagery of terror is exactly what I would expect. However I laughed at DUP spokesman Jeffrey Donaldson's faux outrage at this. In particular, I was amused by his little soundbite...

"Sinn Fein has a commitment to support the rule of law and it’s unacceptable that they’re promoting literature which glorifies terrorism,” Mr Donaldson said. “I think the police need to examine this and decide whether this kind of merchandise breaches incitement to hatred laws.”

 

Jeffrey - get a life and spare us your rank hypocrisy. You are happy to sit in GOVERNMENT with the IRA. You have been content to turn a blind eye to the IRA's murder of Paul Quinn in south Armagh. You know that the IRA Army Council remains intact, and as a Privy Councillor, you will know many more things that should ensure you refusing to share power with these monsters, but yet you do. So this pious cant about a calendar is pathetic stuff.

Some people REALLY hate traffic cameras! 

A man has been arrested in the US after a traffic camera was shot three times with a high-powered rifle.

Police in Knoxville, Tennessee were on a routine patrol in the early hours of the morning when they heard a number of sounds "consistent with gunfire". Following a search of the area they saw a man in a people carrier behaving "very suspiciously". When the officers stopped and searched the van they found a high-calibre deer hunting rifle on the floor of the vehicle.When the driver Clifford Clark III, 47, was questioned, the arresting officer said he stated that he "didn't want to say what he was doing there because he didn't want to get into trouble". The police subsequently found a red-light camera that had been hit with three high-calibre rounds. Mr Clark was charged with felony vandalism and reckless endangerment.

Yeah, but all the same, don't you have a sneaking regard for a citizen taking out one of these monstrous intrusions which the State seeks to impose but which motorists view mostly with disgust? Perhaps the war on  motorists will no longer be a one-way street?

Did you read that police investigating four abortion clinics in Barcelona used frequently by British women have been horrified to find purpose-built machines attached to the drains that were used to crush foetuses?

Because they were so loud, the machines – which fed into public drains – were switched on only during the early hours of the day to avoid drawing attention to the illegal arrangement, police sources said. Officers gathering evidence at the clinics this week have been testing the machines and drains for traces of DNA, which may be matched with that of past clients, according to reports. Under Spanish law, abortions can be carried out only in cases of rape, if there is a risk to the mother’s physical or mental health or in cases of severe foetal malformation, and then only until the 22nd week of preganancy.

It seems that there has been a steady rise in the number of abortions performed in Spain since it was partially legalised in 1985. About 90,000 are currently performed each year and many experts doubt that they are all legal. Mirentxu Corcoy, a law professsor at Barcelona University, said recently that 90 per cent of the abortions practised in the northeastern region of Catalonia “were on the outer fringes of legality”.

Those Barcelona clinics found guilty of discharging human remains into the public drains should be closed down immediately and those who run them arrested for breaking the law. How can Spain be a popular spot for Brits seeking an abortion when at the same time the law in Spain is essentially prohibitive of what is being sought? I don't know about you but I just find the whole thing so ...inhuman, so sordid, so sad.

You've heard of the movie "The Deer Hunter" - but have you heard of the Beer Hunter?

This is the name given to the individual who drove out of the Guinness brewery in Dublin with 40,000 pints of the black stuff!! About 450 kegs of beer and stout were lifted from under the noses of security guards in what is believed to be the first raid on the historic St James’s Gate Brewery at Victoria Quay along the River Liffey. It took place as the police announced their Christmas traffic blitz, giving warning that 160 officers would be on patrol over the coming weeks and urging motorists in the traffic-choked city to leave their vehicles at home.  The lone raider, who has already been nicknamed “the Beer Hunter” by Dublin wags, drove his own HGV through the Guinness security gates, attaching it to a well-provisioned trailer and taking off with the makings of a very merry Christmas.

That's quite a security breach - I wonder if the guards had been imbiding themselves or were they feeling in mood of unusual festive generosity? 

I'm sure he is pushing on an open door. I refer to Osama bin Laden who has apparently  released a recorded message warning European countries to stop following America and withdraw their forces from Afghanistan.

The Al Qqueda leader also stated once again that he was responsible for presiding over the September 11 attacks. He said the US had "insisted on invading" Afghanistan even though it knew that the Afghans were not behind the attacks, and that "Europe walked behind it".

"The American tide is ebbing," he said in a message addressed to the European public. "It is better for you to restrain your politicians who are thronging the steps of the White House." He said that by following the US into Afghanistan, Europe could only be a "subordinate" to Washington.

What does he MEAN by the expression "the American tide is ebbing"? It seems to me that this is reference to Bush abandoning his own Bush doctrine  - pressurised into doing so by a vicious biased media and Democrat opponents lining up to make sure that Al Queda are treated as if they are criminals - rather than Jihad-crazy terrorists. Only a sustained military and political onslaught on All Queda will reduce the threat they pose. That requires Europe working WITH the US. But whilst the likes of Sarkozy seems up for this - Britain under Brown isn't, and we know how dhimmi the likes of Spain, Germany and many other EU nations already are, so OBL is appealing to their worst dhimmi instincts. Europe walking a separate path from the US is what Bin Laden wants, and so does the msm.  Maybe they will get what they wish for - but the consequences will be bad.

Did you see that hospitals may need to keep their hand rub under lock and key to stop patients drinking it for its alcoholic content? Poison experts at London's Guy's and St Thomas' hospital received 19 reports of intentional ingestion over 16 months. Those who are in need of alcohol seem prepared to take a swig of the hand rub and so doctors think the 500g bottles need to be secured - which kinda misses the point of having them in the first place! It's enough to drive you to drink....

MICK FORSYTHE, a 55 year old lorry driver from Northern Ireland, though living now in Wales, has been given a prison sentence for racial harassment after calling a Welsh woman an "English".

Mick Forsythe used the term during an argument over a scratched car in his Welsh home town. He called the vehicle's owner, Lorna Steele, an "English bitch". She and her husband took great offence at the jibe and decided to take him to court.  The 55-year-old former lorry driver was found guilty of racially aggravated disorderly behaviour, and received a ten-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months.

This is outrageous. As rude and unpleasant as Mr Forsythe sounds, it's both deeply unBritish and disturbing for the state to impose such a draconian penalty for nothing more than an insult. It would have been more effective and just to order Mr Forsythe to apologise instead. Lorna Steele's (English) husband was with her at the time. He says of Mr Forsythe:

"He is a racist. He doesn't like the English.

I'm not sure how it's racist if an Ulsterman doesn't like the English, but it doesn't do to go shrieking like a girl to the courts. If any man had spoken to my wife in the way he did I'd have taken care of matters myself.
