THE PRICE OF REWARDING TERRORISM

You do not defeat terrorism by rewarding terrorists, regardless of how many bleeding heart liberals argue otherwise. Want to know where that flawed approach leads to? Read UNIONISM DECAYED 1997-2007 - It's my first book and it explains what happens when you seeek to appease terrorists and call it peace. It's available right now for ATW readers so make sure you get your copy by emailing the editor! This is the book that dissents from the herd mentality that doing wrong can lead to being right. It doesn't and this book spells out WHY.

OFF TO DUBLIN!

Right then, that's my lot for today - I'm just about to leave for Dublin as I am going to see the Ireland vs Scotland rugby game later on today at Croke Park. Naturally I will be the one waving a Union Flag, singing God save the Queen and cheering on.....the better team! Seriously, I DO enjoy the 6 Nations, with a big day ahead for all the teams. Should be a good atmosphere with the Scottish fans being a good humoured bunch - given the fact that all they can expect is a beating! Catch up tomorrow...!

I thought that the Ireland team was an all-Ireland team which included players from NI. In any case, the EU has told the Irish to go f*ck themselves if they think that their referendum on the latest EU treaty is going to halt their plans for a superstate:

Enjoy your day David, I'll be there too in the lower Cusack stand - same seats for all 3 home games!!! Really hope both teams give us a decent show. Something like the last 20 mins of the Ireland v France game would be great to watch.

Was it a protest against our Annie?

Ireland won. Congrats to its supporters.

Good win for Ireland in the end. The Scots initially flattered to deceive. With England having also beaten Les Bleu is Paris, it's all getting very interesting!

Q4Andy,

I was also in the lower Cusack stand - great view of the game!

No, David. They'll let us get our hopes built up and then they'll break our hearts right at the end! I don't why I bother sometimes. Great performance from Tommy Bowe.

Hope you enjoyed yor visit to the capital DV, quite an impressive stadium wouldn't you say?

Looks like the England v Ireland match at Twickenham could be a decider, providing we can beat Wales and England retain the Calcutta Cup. Either way I'll be there, maybe see you then.

We can support our team together.

Daithio,

I always enjoy Dublin - as I have said before I am very fond of the Irish people. All very exciting for the outcome of this competition!

Good to hear you enjoyed it David.
What did you make of the game being played on a larger pitch? I remember seeing it on tv before the first game last year against France and thinking, God we're going to be miles away from it but wasn't that bad when I went to that game against the French.

Good for you all.

Rugby is a terrific sport, with surprising international reach, which has no standing as a professional / national game here. Our loss.

I'd have loved to have been at Croke Park yesterday, or at any of the pubs afterward.

Just out of curiosity DV, how did you feel, considering the home team represented the whole island, about Irish national anthem being played along with Irelands Call?

Sunday, February 24, 2008 at 05:07PM | Unregistered CommenterDaithiO

Q4ANDY,

Yes, I thought the larger pitch worked out fine, it's a great stadium for sure.

DAITHIO,

You know I hate the playing of anthems - I think it divides. The Irish national antmen leaves me cold, but then again I'm not Irish. To tell you the aboslute truth, I go the sport, for the good company, and to enjoy Dublin.

Folks, don't be fooled, this is the robot the GAA replaced Vance with that's typing these posts. The real one disappeared in a puff of red, white and blue smoke just after he passed the turnstile having handed over his hard-earned euros for the upkeep of a republican shrine.

Bwahahahaha!

I'm not Irish. A ridiculous notion. Of course you are Irish. Why should Éire or Republicanism be handed sole rights to Irishness (something neither claims)? You may not be the same kind of Irishman as Pádraig Pearse or Daniel O'Connell, but you're as Irish as Edward Carson, Oscar Wilde or W.B. Yeats. It's time Unionists began to cherish their Irish identity.

Great result for the boys in green.

Good to see the Ulstermen make such an impression! Well done Tommy Bowe - from the rugby stronghold of..er..Monaghan!

Big Ulsterman,

I'm Texan.

Reg,

Yeah, Bowe did very well!

Monday, February 25, 2008 at 09:27AM | Unregistered CommenterDavid Vance

Well said Big Ulster fella!!!

David,
What did you make of the PWC review of the stadium location for the Maze site? Does seem like a bit of a white elephant to me but with the housing situation the way it is, a new planned satellite town alongside it would make sense.

Monday, February 25, 2008 at 09:44AM | Unregistered CommenterQ4Andy

Q4Andy,

I have it on good authority it WILL be the Maze and all this nonsense about it being Belfast is just window dressing. Talk to the property people around the Maze to find out which way the wind is blowing.
