Outed! I'm A Racist
OUR HOST below brings our attention to the 18 "higher-quality ingredients", beginning with amuse-bouche of corn stuffed with caviar, smoked salmon and sea urchin pain-surprise-style, hot onion tart and winter lily bulbs, enjoyed by the world's esteemed leaders in Japan about now. Sounds like a load of fancy foreign muck to me.
Our dear, it's off to the re-education camp for me, I must be a racist.

The linked story is absolutely chilling - the thought police in action in pursuit of their uber-pc agenda. If a story like this had been reported 10 years ago it would have been dismissed as fantasy. Now it's deadly real.
I live for spicy food, and couldn't imagine living without it.
But that having been said, I think that the program spoken of here is imbecilic, wrong, racist in itself.
Many, many kids are picky eaters to begin with, and if they don't fancy spicy or pungent whatever, it is no business of anyone's.
I am constantly amazed at how stories like this are tut-tutted by the too clever by half progressives here and elsewhere. "Oh. that's just the Telegraph [ Mirror] ". "Its taken out of context". "It means nothing".
You're on a one-way ticket to the year zero, and "its taken out of context". Hone up on your boatbuilding skills you Brits, because you may wind up being the new "boat people". Better learn how to do it right, because your boats will have to withstand a transatlantic voyage. Not sure what sane refuge can be found in a Europe dotted with Khmer Rouge petty tyrants in all sorts of places.
Racist toddlers??? My God could this pc nonsense get any worse?
Phantom,
We need a revolution here. The people need to rise up and throw off these iron chains of pc imprisonment. Liberty is fading UNLESS we stand up and assert our will. Problem is - NONE of the political parties could care less - they are all in on the totalitarian deal, one way or another. People like me who constantly repel from it are characterised as "mavericks" and dismissed as such That is one reason why I look West continually - we live in an age where the individual has never been under so much threat and Pete's linked story shows just how crushing the pressure has become. Racist because I don't like spicy food, eh? I think NOT. But I think those who suggest this need strung up. - metaphorically speaking of course ;-)
A fine "rhetorical flourish" !
Thanks Phantom. The last piece of uber PC bullshit i read was in my performance review at work which made my performance and any payrise incumbent on how i answered the following question. It asked if i had trouble with dealing with people from other countries, skin colour, of a different gender, sexual orientation and so forth. Whether or not i might potentially be a racist.
I wrote: 'are you kidding me' across the answer section.
When i later put it to PR that it was beyond banal that my performance review should include such a PC question i was told it was mandatory to complete. I asked under whose insistence? Some PC quango? The EU?
An American legislation ruling was the answer.
Hone up your boat skills buddy. We take our PC cues from you.
Well, you are most excellent learners. I can't imagine spicy food racist detection squads in our schools, though I imagine that could be coming.
And you may want to ask the HR dimwit what American legislation has to do with the UK. And what exactly that legislation was, which law exactly. I bet you get no answer, because it is to use Frank's favorite word a "strawman"!--no such legislation exists.
Here you go. Please read thoroughly. Decide what type of boat you and your family needs, and we'll pick up the discussion at some time in the future.
Oh i did and it is relevant alright. But hey! When kiddies grow up now their jobs and cashflow is dependent on just how racist they may be in the private lives so may as well get started early dontcha think? Not that of course even with the ability of papers to secure government information and publish it under the Freedom of Information Act they actually did. But hey. You form your sweeping opinion on some alleged namby pamby bullshit. I know it suits your farme of mind to see us sink. Clearly.
Meanwhile your complete ignorance of your own country's PC crap is sometimes astonishing.
Your blinders are on again. I'm very critical of US PC-ism but think that y'all bring it to another level on some things, like what is discussed here. A small part of a large, and nasty puzzle.
Since you made the point- what is the relevant legislation ruling? Name it.
How could an American ruling possible be relevant to the UK? ( Especially when its not even relevant here- I know of no such questions on evaluations here. Won't say it does not happen, but it surely is not common )
When you refer to your schools. Did you mean the Frankfurt schools in NYC or when they moved to California btw to spread their wings. Probably faster than a boat.
Since you made the point - which primary school has this been implemented in and where is the 'spicy food' citation from the actual report in the article. Name it or link it.
I would be very happy to send you the documentation and ill dig out the legislation reference from HR if you like and email it to you. If you can see a way around my having to answer such an absurdly intrusive PC steeped question to secure a work appraisal Id welcome it.
Darlin', you didn't answer my questions. And not sure what the "Frankfurt school" has to do with the price of kielbasa in Warsaw, or which organizations get British taxpayer largesse, but I imagine there's a point there somewhere.
Gotta go, theres work to be done.
Phantom, it was sarcasm babywaby sweetie features. I answered your question. I dont know the legilsation i never asked. But the US Human Resources bods made it pretty clear it was US mandated employment legislation and applies here.
In contrast you cannot answer my same questions to you. Why? Because you cannot reference the journos bit of speculation that's why.
I would be interested to know what a carer would say in your nurseries if a kiddie exhibited some dislike towards a Mexican or black kiddie which he had picked up at home. And kids do parrot what their parents say sometimes. I'm pretty damn sure he or she would say something and have some guidelines to fall back on.
But the fact remains - you cannot cite or link to that report and are not averse to a sweeping bit of generalisation when it suits you. Conversely I can actually prove my point. Wanna take me up on it? David has my email.
That picture is revolting. Is that food? It looks like someone scalped a monkey.
Life's too short, for both of us.
But you were had on the "US legislation". Britain is not part of the US, and if there was some sort of legislation here, I would have heard about it I think.
I will ask some local HR people if there is any relevant legislation that mandates questions like that--which I have have never seen or heard of here.
I can assure you Phantom there's no 'having' in this big ol' multi nat. company who are by the book swots with a fearsome legal department.
Is a 'yucky' response from a non-white child to traditional British food going to be classified as racist too?
**Generally speaking, when a three year old says someone smells, it's because they do.
Daphne -
That's a sea urchin. Clearly they don't qualify as 'food', but that doesn't stop the little yellow buggers from tucking in.
They're being dished up to our glorious leaders done 'pain-surprise style', a description to match my feelings if garcon plonked something like that down in front of me.
Daphne
Thats at least as likely. Especially if that traditional food has any yummy pork in it.
Had a quick look around the NCB publications site and the publication summary in question. It is not tax payer funded and is not being handed out to anyone. You buy it if you want it.
Cannot find the alleged offending passages. You would think the Torygraph could quote from a book they have purchased since it is actually available now.
The author does however quote Michelle Obama as her inspiration. Heh.
When she becomes First Fembot Phantom, you'll need to build a bigger boat!
Michelle Obama, as of two weeks ago. loves America very much I'll have you know.
Im sure. The White House is either a great interior design project or she fancies her weakling no bollocks husband can be steered from behind, so to speak. Either way she's got it nailed.
Alison,
The group is taxpayer-funded, so therefore by definition their publications are. However as usual the Torygraph, instead of savaging the race-obsessed spoutings of its author (who has previously co-authored material with notorious race-baiter Herman Ouseley) and bemoaning the use of taxpayers' money to produce such rubbish, has turned this publication into something its not by implying that it will be taken as set-in-stone guidelines which is untrue. And which also means its insidious nature will now be lost amongst point-scoring such as that taking place above.
Phantom,
Sorry old bean but she's right. The same projected legislation to enshrine blatantly racist employment practices which is currently causing outrage here, for example, has been in place in the US for decades. Jesse Helms, deity of your choice or none at all rest his soul, was vilified for his supposed racism (and still is being) because he ran on a platform opposing 'affirmative action'.
All our decadent and decrepit western cultures have let this disgusting lunacy take hold. We're all equally guilty.
What legislation?
And even if affirmative action is bad --and I think it is -- it was the result of executive branch US policy ( started by Richard Nixon, mind you ) and not of any legislation as far as I know.
And what does it have to do with questions on an employment evaluation form in any case?
DSD
I have no doubt of its spurious content though it isn't mandated it should be pointed out. But the Torygraph cited a possible something as an actual fact re the food thing. They could quote verbatim if they wanted to but they don't.
Look, I don't doubt there are guidelines ad nauseum in both the UK and the US regards how to deal with alleged 'racism' in classrooms, there are guidelines for everything in teaching and care work. And im sure the academics involved are all well versed in bullshit. I just dont subscribe to the pov that this is unique to this country. I would be curious to know how the US handles perceived issues in the classroom. Im sure there are clear guidelines for it somewhere.
p.s Pete Moore. Im guessing my 'sexist' , 'cannabalistic' frogs legs in a white wine sauce joke would be banned if i was savvy enough to have shared that one at school.
Alison -
You can tell it as much as you like. Since you seem to have contracted everlasting PMT, I'll chuckle every time I hear it.
PMT means?
I can kind of guess but...
It means pre menstrual tension. Its only a monthly affliction. As opposed to the permanent humourless scowl and deep rooted angst Mr Moore suffers. I half wonder if that isn't linked to short man syndrome or small dick syndrome.
Phantom,
Affirmative action was started by an executive order from JFK, not Nixon. LBJ broadened it; Nixon also expanded it.
I don't think traditional English food is racist.
It could be considered cruel and unusual punishment for kids to be forced to eat it.
Whoever wrote the food guidelines has never tried to get a 4 or 5 year old to eat their veg. That part is just stupid.
The really chilling aspect of this is this:
"Nurseries are encouraged to report as many incidents as possible to their local council. The guide added: "Some people think that if a large number of racist incidents are reported, this will reflect badly on the institution. In fact, the opposite is the case."
Wasn't it the Communist that did this?
OOH! Ratting out your fellow students, and teachers ratting out the kids, and kids ratting out the teachers!
I can see HRM handing out the medals now: Hero of Soviet Education!
Pete,
I loved the second comment on the Telegraph page:
One wonders whether somewhere in the *gasp* 366pp guide the authors found space to cover that one.
Of course they didn't Dawkins, don't be silly - only white people are racist in the UK.
Alison -
My permanent scowl is down to being a jolly old fashioned reactionary and sexist in modern, liberal Britain.
Being short and having a small dick has nothing to do with it.
Honest.
Don't worry Pete, I believe you. Actually i don't have periods. I'm an alien sent to Earth specially to annoy jolly old fashioned reactionaries and sexists who have lost their mojo.
How pathertic and actually potentially discriminating against those with disabilities. Sensory sensitivity is a common part of both Aspergers and Dyspraxia and that can include sensitivity to tastes.Call me a racist because of a manifestation of my disability would you, you bastards??!!!!!
This story has lead to reams of silly stereotyping and smug assumptions on this thread. It's a piece of academic 'advisory' nonsense of which buzy body quangos pump out ad nauseum day after day, and yes Phantom that would include such bodies in the US as well as the UK , so you can wipe that smug "oh dear Britain's going to hell" grin off your face .It's isn't difficult for any halfway competent journalist to source a report like this. They are ten a penny.
These stories are almost universally mocked in the press and by the public, and while interfering PC dictats are a real problem there is a load of guff also like this which excites the blogosphere but is forgotten in a week.
Cool Colm, thanks for joining in.
Everyone knows Britain is going to hell because Ronaldo
was allowed to leave Man U and go to Real Madrid,
not because of some limp wristed bureaucrats
Except Colm that there are people who think like this and although I can't see any toddler actually getting into trouble (although remember the wee boy expelled from school for kissing a wee girl in the playground?)
People make judgements about poeple finding that all xxxxx's look the same or who find it difficult to make out some accents. Of course it might be zenaphobia in both cases or it could be a case of having difficulty reading faces or processing sounds.
What does not liking mushy peas denote?
Alison
There is a tendency here on ATW for some American contributors to make generalising and patronisingly mocking comments about the UK in a manner that would have them spitting blood when such sneers are directed at the US by Europeans . Quite rightfully you fight back against those attacks on the UK and I am happy to do so too.
You're right Colm, sorry.
The Ronaldo thing was a cheap shot
Yeah they call it anti amercanism when it done the other way around. There is a tendency to take single issues and wax lyrical about this country as a whole yes Colm. Especially by Americans. I think it makes them feel better about the total crap going on their own country.
Aileen
Don't get me wrong I am not for one minute defending this crap. The people who produced it are scaremongering and dangerous and should be mocked and deride from here to kingdom come , but Phantom's sneering insinuations about the UK as a whole based on this tripe deserve responding to.
I think Aileen made an excellent point, it's that people in some official capacity (here or there) actually think this way and have the ability to form public policy. These kinds of stories should get the public's fur up so this nonsense gets shot down immediately.
Colm -In fairness we Yanks believe the UK is a theme park (he types and runs for the hills).
I kid my anglo-amigos. We all make some generalizations fro mtime to time.
Ac1
Eh ?. No need to apologise for the Ronaldo quip. There's always a place on ATW for light heartedness.
Real men stay in cold wet Manchester, not running off to unReal Madrid to splash sun tan lotion all over each other ..
Alison - you are going to absolutely HATE my latest post. :-)
I didn't get you wrong and agree.
