OVER HERE - EXIT STAGE RIGHT - PALIN QUITS
Friday, July 3, 2009 at 09:07PM Sarah Palin will be quitting mid-term as Governor of Alaska. Talk about Independence Day. Whether it is for her stated reasons, or some other reason, only time will tell.
Possibly a smart move. She will remain a figure admired by the far right, and this frees her from accountability for whatever happens in Alaska that she would have if she finished her term.
More later....

Hooray!
According to Josh Marshall, she is sick of the constant "sniping" from the liberal media, on questions of possible abuse of power as governor (troopergate etc.) It may be that there is more to come out shortly. Let's hope so anyway.
But don't rule out a run for the GOP nomination, starting maybe six months from now.
Friday evening is the evening politicians break the bad news.....
I smell BIG scandal coming.
Bye Bye Sarah, for now. You were so entertaining!
Sarah is extremely charismatic. And I like her politics. I hope she ignores the inconsequential negative punditry out there and remains a public figure.
Wot no tribute photo?

(O/T) Here's a timely explanation to your question of yesterday, only in clear English:

I well recommend the book that the piece reviews. I read it a few weeks ago. It's explains precisely and clearly what happened to your country.
I don't think there is any scandal. I don't think she is corrupt (a political lightweight, but not corrupt).
It is the timing that is curious: Friday evening/ US holiday weekend , infamous time for politicians to break news under the radar and scrutiny that normally ensues.
It could be scandal, it could also be family issues- God knows, that family are fairly 'needy' of someone sensible.
It also could be something else- health issue, hey we are all speculating.
One thing for sure, she has no political future. She's finished. Pity that, I was looking forward to the 2012 entertainment of a Palin Presidential run.

Interesting book link. I think I'll read it and report back, in due course.
I studied economics for a brief period in my chequered university career, and have never lost interest. I re-read Galbraith's classic The Great Wall Streat Crash a few months back.

Please do. Just to be clear, the author is Thomas Woods and the book is "Meltdown". No doubt Amazon carries it. Like all good books, it's easily read. I'd be happy to post any thoughts.
Apparently Fox is in official mourning for its fallen pinup girl.
No doubt that fine human being Bill O'Reilly will have something new to
rantspeak about soon. "First they came for the moose hunters...."You would have to have a heart of stone not to laugh.
