Phone Calls for Mitt
Mitt has the temperament, the intelligence, the decency and the drive to be POTUS. And he doesn't lie about a fellow Republican opponent on the eve of an election as McCain did the other day in Florida. I agree with Dan Riehl - "competence, class and a life well led":
"Mitt Romney is the only candidate on the Republican side capable of truly uniting the base and going on to win in the Fall. I support him for his competence, class and, yes, his consistency over a life well led, much of it not on the public dime, or planning and plotting inside a failed Washington as to how he, but not genuinely conservative principles, can move ahead.
I strongly encourage my conservative friends and colleagues to rally behind Mitt Romney for the very hard fight just up ahead. We are fighting an establishment just as short-sighted, as it has been corrupt.
Whether it's helping to raise money, make phone calls, or get out the vote, Mitt Romney as the last man standing anyone can honestly call a loyal conservative needs our help. Win, or lose in the Fall, if Romney doesn't get our support and the Republican nod, conservatives will be left homeless under McCain. No president has not reverted to being himself once in office. The Party will be over, as it were. And as we don't support government subsidies, a boot-strap re-building on our own will cost conservatism much. Yet, we must prepare for that eventuality, too - should it emerge. That fate for conservatives and the Republican Party can be avoided. It is not too late."
And now I’m off to a campaign call center to make some calls before the California primary.

This election used to be exciting and enjoyable.
Now it's just enjoyable.
You're obsessed Patty.
Patty if you want to help Romney tell people you are a McCain supporter.
What's your husband's take on the latest developments, Daphne?
I reckon he's going to go to town on those poor ducks, next time he goes a'hunting.
He despises McCain, so he's not real happy with the old farts in Florida. He says if Mitt gets knocked out on Super Tuesday, he's voting for Ron Paul in the Texas primary as a protest vote.
The birds are safe until next Fall, he's too busy right now to go hunting.
Daphne: The Mahons' guide to the New York Primary (the important one) will be issued Friday. A must read and this time I'll have to disclose my intentions (as a registered Democrat guess who I get to choose between). Prepare yourself for unspeakable outrage, class warfare and pomposity on a level I have yet to achieve to date.
mahons, I'm sure you'll rise to the occasion, but we're also waiting for California, NJ and Minesota.
By the way, speaking of angry young Republicans with guns, do you think there is much risk of Waco-style local uprisings, possibly involving Troll, if Romney bites the dust?
Good for you Patty!
I can't wait Mahons. When did you decide to register as a Democrat, I thought you liked playing the Independent card?
This is going to sound perverse, but I'm sincerely hoping Obama beats the stuffing out of Hillary. I want the Clintons to just go away.
McCain beats both Hillary and Obama in a head-to-head matchup. Romney loses by a wide margin to both. Ditto for Huckabee.
Whatever concerns we might all have with McCain, he's the best shot at stopping the Democrats in '08.
This really is enjoyable because McCain is going to do it. ;0
Patty...I might be wrong here but doesn`t Romney belong to a religious fundamentalist sect, I don`t think having such fanatical irrational people running the worlds most powerful country is a good idea. They might decide to unleash Armageddon upon the world because "God" told them to.
If McCain gets it - the democrats will be in the White House for atleast 4 years.
Waco-style local uprising? It takes some strange looking glass to see the slaughter under the orders of Janet Reno of a self-styled sect as "a local uprising".
I see that my nimrod Governor has endorsed MCCain. We should have elected Kinky.
Noel: I will offer short musings on California, New jersey and Minnesota for my adoring fans and vicious enemies.
Daphne: I was a registered independent since 1982, and decided I wanted to register with a party (so I could vote in primaries) this year. The present occupant of the White House has so infuriated me that it was simply impossible to register as a republican, even though I feel neither party has all the answers.
