THE PRICE OF REWARDING TERRORISM

You do not defeat terrorism by rewarding terrorists, regardless of how many bleeding heart liberals argue otherwise. Want to know where that flawed approach leads to? Read UNIONISM DECAYED 1997-2007 - It's my first book and it explains what happens when you seeek to appease terrorists and call it peace. It's available right now for ATW readers so make sure you get your copy by emailing the editor! This is the book that dissents from the herd mentality that doing wrong can lead to being right. It doesn't and this book spells out WHY.

POLITICISED POLICING...

You have to laugh at the surrealism  of it all. Sir Ian Blair has resigned from his role as Britain's top cop - head of the Metropolitan Police. The reason he had done this is because he does not enjoy the confidence of London's elected Mayor - the conservative (nominally) Boris Johnson. The left-wing British media have reacted in horror at this "politicisation" of policing,as they portray it. Of COURSE policing it politicised, Sir Ian go the job on the nod of his namesake Tony Blair. Sir Ian is seen as a liberal and a patron of Nulabour values. So what is really riling the left is that someone on the right is actually flexing a little muscle, and that's just not fair, the media babbles. Even more hilarious is the idea being touted that Sir Hugh Orde - the Chief Constable of the PSNI here in Northern Ireland - would make an ideal replacement. The wife-cheating Sir Hugh may be many  things, but being political is central to all of that. So here we have a brain-dead media suggesting that this politician in a policeman's uniform would make an ideal "no-political" successor to Sir Ian.

So is Ronnie Flannigan,Sir Paul Stephenson,Sir Norman Bettison Peter Neyroud and Britains' first black chief constable Mike Fuller .

Orde still has two years left on his contract, and the job hasn't even been advertised yet. Also I don't think we've seen the end of the political fallout over this.

The hypocrisy is astounding when you consider how they behaved over the MacPherson report,

Who is really of need of recruitment to the post of the Metropolitan Police is William Bratton who was formally Commissioner of the Boston Massachusetts Police Department and commissioner of theNew ork Police Department. He is currently the Chief of Police of the Los Angeles Department. He's a "no-nonsense", hardnosed, kick-ass, Vietnam vet cop.

If he were appointed to the top-cop spot I can see the headlines in the Daily Mail now: BRASH BRATTON BULLDOZES BRIXTON!

If TV has taught us anything, it's that the only good cops are the brash, violent, hard-drinking types who don't play by the rules.

Agree it is very funny to hear them whine about that political element.

What are this new touted fella's actual policing record/credentials?

You don't care about Palin's knocked up teenage daughter David so this issue on infidelity should not concern you either.

So true.

Alison, there is a slight difference between pre marital sex and extra marital sex.

"What are this new touted fella's actual policing record/credentials?"

Shugh Orde's credintials is that he will try his complete best to politically piss off everyone. He will annoy both Red Ken and Bubbling Boris. In terms of policing, he led the PSNI through probably the biggest organisational changes since the days of Robert Peel, so maybe he might do well in London.

David -

Yeah, I had a chuckle this morning at the usual BBC 5Live suspects getting the vapours over Boris sacking the pc pc for political reason. The horror!

If Boris Johnson achieves nothing else, all Londoners ought to be thankful for the ditching of this perfumed princess. His time in charge of the Met has been disastrous.

He was appointed by Blair because he's of the hard Left and his job was to destroy any last vestige of traditional policing in the Met. Through catastrophe, didaster and scandal he kept the job, shielded by his political masters for political reasons. But oh the shock of his being sacked for political reasons.

When the Lords voted down and continued to vote down the Bill to outlaw hunting, the cry went up that the Commons - the democratically elected Commons - will not be denied. The democratic element was invoked to elevate the view of the Commons over that of the Lords.

Well, the Left can suck it up now. Mayor Boris was voted into office by the people of London and your Marxist pc has been handed his cards. Boo hoo.

The incident that damaged Ian Blair the most, the De Menezes killing, was a testament to the worst excesses of the political correctness that has become ingrained in the force under his leadership.

As I have said elsewhere today; the officer who led the operation that ended up with the killing of Jean Charles De Menezes, Cressida Dick, had previously been in charge of the Met's Diversity Directorate*. In what sort of police force would that qualify someone to take control of a life and death situation involving armed officers and potential terrorists?

* It's not even as if all that diversity crap enabled her to tell the difference between a white Brazilian and the Ethiopian man who they mistook him for.
