SEND IN THE DRONES...
Thursday, September 18, 2008 at 07:11AM I read that a US drone has attacked suspected terrorists inside Pakistan yesterday, only hours after the US military chief assured Pakistani leaders that the country's sovereignty would be respected. In an effort to calm escalating tensions between Washington and Islamabad, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, made a surprise visit to the Pakistani capital after it emerged that President George Bush had authorised US forces to attack Taliban militants in tribal areas on the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Two things to say. I think the US SHOULD go after the Islamic terrorists, wherever they are hiding. Sending in troops is obviously the best route, though with the attendent danger to the personnel involved. Next best, sending in the drones. Either way, hunting them down and killing them off is the only way to win the war and I would let Pakistan political leaders huff and puff for all they are worth --- their words mean nothing.

I wonder what the USA reaction would be if Mexico or Canada sent a drone in to attack suspected drug traffickers in the USA?
And would you be on here saying that Mexico or Canada were right, keeping in mind that your post directly above this deals with the scourge of drugs.
Yep Mr M, I'm sure the Mexican authorities are hugely concerned about the flow of drugs *into* Mexico from the US. And that aside, terrorist lunatics are hardly the same as drug traffickers now are they?
DSD drug traffickers will have brought more death and misery to the USA than lunatic terrorists ever will.
The fact is that the USA have disregarded Pakistan's sovereignty & if the shoe was on the other foot they'd be having none of it.
Mr M, remember, you are with them or with the Terrorists. No wiggle room. You either support unilateral, pre-empite, indiscriminate attacks that kill thousands of civilians or you support using Jumbo Jets as Ballistic Missles and killing thousands of civilians. There is no middle ground it would appear.
