Sharia in the UK? - What else is new?
Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at 02:19PM
After Dee's post on Sharia, a few thoughts on our way and their way...
Following my earlier post on the 'terrorist police' protest, a commentator wrote "It makes me angry that it doesn't tic with most people. It's all so commonplace anymore. Muslims protest, riot, burn cars, scream racism/islamophobia, throw stones, and sue people on a regular basis to, damnit, get their way!!!
Normal citizens have learned to keep their opinions to themselves for fear of being labeled something nasty. Name calling IS worse than sticks and stones anymore. We've been PC'ed into craven cowardice and normalized into acceptance of special interest, anti-societal behaviour by a group of protected minorities. What else is new these days?"
Which is pretty much the crux of it. The moslems jump up and down with full measure of 'sound and fury', and then by and large get what they want. This is bad on two main points. Firstly, because what moslems want of Western Society (whatever that is, but more on that another time) is generally bad for Western Society and its citizens, and Secondly because it teaches those of us watching events with disbelief one very important lesson. That the only way to get politicians and those in positions of power to listen to you is to threaten or commit acts of violence.
If I've read my colleagues' posts here correctly, members of old IRA-type organisations are now to be in power. We know also that our own politicians' behaviour during the Cartoon Jihad was truly despicable, especially in praising those magazines that didn't dare print the cartoons for their 'sensitivity' (it is, of course, entirely beside the point that any magazine which wanted to do so knew what was later proved by police statement, that the safety of magazines and staff 'could not be guaranteed' by police), that our politicians believe mohometanism to be a 'religion of peace', that you can essentially get away with incitement to violence and murder if you're the right colour and creed.
What else is new?
In the light of this weariness of jihad, the desire for sharia law in Britain described here, and the implementation of sharia law in Britain described here, are perhaps not so surprising. A blogger from Wales posting as the Green Arrow recently posted an article showing one of the fruits of that religion of peace from, I believe, Indonesia. The picture and story, though, happened over a year ago now, so of course someone had to go and make the comment of 'This happened a year ago, why post it now? What about Iraq?!' I hope to get a fuller post from Green Arrow for publication later, but this in itself helps illustrate, I think, the ennui which will certainly be our downfall if we do not arise from it.
Over on Little Green Footballs a while back, a comment was made by one of their commentators that there needs to be, globally, a reaction against this. The idea being that we need to collectively say 'I'm mad as hell, and I'm not gonna take it anymore!'. A great idea in theory, but how could it ever be put into practice under our current conditions? Could it ever happen?
Today an 'extreme, unrepresentative minority' carries out an act of violence in the Indonesia, or the Phillipines. Tomorrow in Germany, or France, and it'll be 'persons of middle-eastern appearance'. The day after that, in the US, or the UK. The Tubes were bombed, the twin towers fell, and meanwhile sharia to 'seeps in under our own front doors' in the form of burkha-babes bustling behind male agitators protesting against imagined witch-hunting of moslems. About this, no-one really seems to care. About halal banking in the UK, no-one seems to care. About the increasing islamisation of our own nation and those of our European neighbours, no-one seems to care. At least, not enough to recognise the enemy and agitate for measures against him. On the day of the London bombings, the Evening Standard (major London daily tabloid) ran a splash front-page reading 'LONDON STANDS UNITED'. It was false then, and it is false now. London, England, all of the West, is under an ungoing invasion by, not an 'alternative culture' (a term laden with relativism from the first) but an ideology hell-bent on the subverting and destroying all we hold dear in Western Society. No-one seems to care.
Meanwhile, in the 'real world', change the channel. Turn up the music. Which celebrity is divorcing which and what's the latest score?
What else is new?
It has been pointed out to me that this post might read like incitement to violence against moslems, which is unfortunate as it's not what I intended. I don't want readers to go out and instigate violence, I just want readers to recognise the threat for what it is. It might be an idea to quote from the film 'Network', cited at LGF, with a few exceptions, of course. I don't want you to worry so much about the Russians when you're being flooded with God alone knows which nationalities in your hometown. I want you to worry about the ones flooding your hometown. I don't want you to write to your congressman, because England has MPs. Write to them if it makes you feel better, but don't expect it to make much of a difference. Get 'mad', get angry, get blindingly furious.
We know things are bad - worse than bad. They're crazy. It's like everything everywhere is going crazy, so we don't go out anymore. We sit in the house, and slowly the world we are living in is getting smaller, and all we say is, 'Please, at least leave us alone in our living rooms. Let me have my toaster and my TV and my steel-belted radials and I won't say anything. Just leave us alone.' Well, I'm not gonna leave you alone. I want you to get mad! I don't want you to protest. I don't want you to riot - I don't want you to write to your congressman because I wouldn't know what to tell you to write. I don't know what to do about the depression and the inflation and the Russians and the crime in the street. All I know is that first you've got to get mad.
You've got to say, 'I'm a human being, Goddamnit! My life has value!' So I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window. Open it, and stick your head out, and yell, 'I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!' I want you to get up right now, sit up, go to your windows, open them and stick your head out and yell…'I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!' Things have got to change. But first, you've gotta get mad…You've got to say, 'I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!' Then we'll figure out what to do about the depression and the inflation and the oil crisis. But first get up out of your chairs, open the window, stick your head out, and yell, and say it: I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!"

Muslims protest, riot, burn cars, scream racism/islamophobia, throw stones, and sue people on a regular basis to, damnit, get their way!!!
They saw that sort of behaviour got results for Irish Nationalists.
--Mad--
That's very nearly exactly my point. The govt bends over backwards for the troublemakers, and expects the public to just bend over and take it.
Why is Winston Churchill wearing a niqab in that picture???
One thing Mr Smith - I expect the SNP to get a considerably higher % of the vote than SF get in NI -Alex Salmond could and should ask for guaranteed seats in the Scottish Cabinet. If refused he should point out that refusal to give similar rights to his party as have been obtained by years of terrorism in Northern Ireland is an open invitation to Scots to start a similar terror campaign.
Oh good grief. Can you imagine a Scots independence terror campaign? That could be really very nasty. Mind you, probably wouldn't come to it. The govt seems to be more interested in kowtowing than in resisting.
Can you imagine a Scots independence terror campaign?
If push came to shove, yes. There were Scots directly involved with both loyalist and republican terrorism here in NI.
Sadly the message from our Government is that asking for something, no matter how reasonable, is unlikely to meet with much interest UNLESS you cause trouble.
Yes, exactly the point. Exactly. So, given that they're not listening to the kind of people the BNP are going after, I wonder exactly what kind of crop they expect to reap from their sown dragon's teeth.
Not everyone can deal like Russia with islamic terrorists . They were occupied once by muslims , so I expect the same british behaviour after the future war of independence .
Good post, Mr Smith. Mark Steyn has just touched on some of the same points:

That's a good article, Pete. Thanks for that link.
Well, violence works. It's obvious, despite all our fine ideals, any nation rubbish at violence will soon go out of existence.
Our problem as a country is that we see nations as nation STATES, whereas our current enemy sees itself as a nation in the older sense - an ethnic/cultural grouping.
So we can let another nation come to our country, shove us around, have violent demonstrations, tell us precisely that they're a nation bent on our conquest -and we still can't figure it out. It just doesn't scan. Cos we have forgotten what a nation is. We expect these guys to become part of our nation just cos they're geographically within our borders. LOL!
Very good post Mr. Smith.
I have a question -
Is anybody, citizens or politicians, calling for:
1. Deportation of all non-citizen muslims
2. A total ban on immigration of muslims
3. Criminalizing and shutting down all islamic religious leaders who preach extremism and their mosques
Daphne,
(3) is already illegal (incitement to violence etc) and prosecutions have happened AFAIK.
The other points you raise are ridiculous and I am pretty sure would also be illegal for any government to attempt.
National Front? Neo-Nazi groups? Michael Moore?
Frank - The US treatment of Japanese Americans after Pearl Harbour ?
Daphne
The BNP is the only political party advocating all three. It's mainly the Leftist enemies of civilisation who would oppose 2 and 3.
MR, what about it? I'm not sure it's really comparable and I wouldn't care to defend it anyway.
I know it's not really comparable Frank - but for me it shows that some of the crazy things being discussed are not so ridiculous. If people feel threatened by others, especially if the others are easily identifiable, anything can happen and 'legality' loses potency.
