SO, A MAN WALKS INTO A BAR...

How PATHETIC is this?

"Welsh Culture Minister Rhodri Glyn Thomas has resigned after claims he walked in to a pub holding a lit cigar. The Plaid Cymru minister quit saying his position was not "sustainable" following an earlier gaffe when he named the wrong winner of a book prize."

This is how silly our society has become - how pc we now are. Walking into a pub with a cigar may be considered inapproriate but it is IN  NO WAY  a resignation matter. Yet in our child-like society this is about the only thing that brings about a political resignation.

Maybe he wanted to quit anyway and this was any easy way to bow out?

Seems a silly reason to resign.

I would be ready to make him prime minister, just for him walking into a pub with a lit cigar. What better a symbolic gesture of defiance toward the damnable, hated EU and all their diabolical directives?

I don't think the European Union (which I hate by the way) is actually forcing individual member States to enact anti-smoking in public area laws Tom. I think the E.U. is strongly encouraging this process however.

Since cigarette/cigar/pipe smoke nauseates me and literally makes me gasp for breath I guess I', bias on this matter.

While we have been cursed with all sorts of Eu directives, the introduction of the smoking ban is not one of them. In time no doubt it will become one, but the bans introduced in member states so far were national initiatives.
