THE FOURTH CHOICE THIRD RATE HIGH REPRESENTATIVE...

Seems that Baroness Ashton - the socialist lackey of UK PM Gordon Brown - was not his first choice candidate for the job of EU High Representative, or second, or even third!
"It emerged that Lady Ashton, Europe’s new foreign policy chief, was effectively only the fourth choice for the foreign minister job. David Miliband, the foreign secretary, Lord Mandelson, the business secretary, and Geoff Hoon, the former defence secretary, were all discussed before Lady Ashton emerged in a last-minute compromise between Mr Brown and other European leaders in Brussels. Lady Ashton herself only heard of her nomination at 5pm on Thursday and had not prepared a formal acceptance speech. Her appointment was greeted with widespread disbelief across Europe."
Having this non-entity that has never been ELECTED to any office in such a prominent post sums up the EU for me - it's a tyranny that seeks to avoid the will of the people.

What are you on about? Get over yourself! Do you think that those 650 toads now sitting in the HoC are superb examples of the democratic process? Do you think that the past twelve years of criminal rule enabled by the democratic will of the people through three general elections is a triumph of democracy? Frankly I prefer a quick conflab between a few rational people.

David, are you not a Monarchist?
I am fed up with all these airbrushed photos of the Baroness that make her look sexy. Can't we for once have a 'warts and all' photo ;)
Frank,
I agree two wrongs don't make a right but that does not mean we shouldn't highlight each.

She's the best argument for the burqa I've seen in a while. I would usually think it bad form to comment on a persons looks but these people are in power without the say-so of the people so a policy of contempt and ridicule is appropriate.
