Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 08:13AM Well then despite his frequent visits to New Jersey to try and help his fellow Democrat Gov Jon Corzine, the GOP candidate Chris Christie has won a stunning victory. Watch the White House distance itself from this stinging failure for Obamagic, who invested much political capital in trying to help the inept Corzine. Here's a a little advice from another set of Jersey Boys to help ease Obama's pain this morning... rag doll politics end up nowhere.

Did Corzine get his arse kicked? Splendid news, even in these dark days a little ray of light can intrude.
So, who is Corzine? He's an ultra statist and no friend of liberty who has followed the Democratic shift to the extreme Left. From wiki:
Corzine campaigned for state government programs including universal health care, universal gun registration, mandatory public preschool, and more taxpayer funding for college education. He pushed affirmative action and same-sex marriage. David Brooks considered Corzine so liberal that although his predecessor was also a Democrat, his election helped shift of the Senate to the left.
Jon Corzine is also ex-Chairman and CEO of Goldman Sachs. I know Democrats think (when they do) Wall Street's big swinging dicks are wicked Right Wing Republicans. Or just "unfettered capitalists". No doubt some are Republicans, but more than that, these animals are uber-statists who would abolish free markets and the liberty of all Americans if they could. They are corporatists who believe in government of the rent seekers, by the rent seekers and for the rent seekers.
The Democratic Party is their natural home.
Jersey folks are fairly even tempered in their politics, preferring to throw the bums out from either party from time to time as they have historically bad state government. You are correct that it certainly will be portrayed as a rebuke to Obama, but I suspect the voters are just fed up with their property taxes (way too high) and the status quo.
And Corzine is a weird dude.
Corzine was a Goldman Sachs gangster
Obama made FIVE trips to support this bum. He owns this defeat.
But NJ voters tend to despise all their governors after a time.
