THE PRICE OF REWARDING TERRORISM

You do not defeat terrorism by rewarding terrorists, regardless of how many bleeding heart liberals argue otherwise. Want to know where that flawed approach leads to? Read UNIONISM DECAYED 1997-2007 - It's my first book and it explains what happens when you seeek to appease terrorists and call it peace. It's available right now for ATW readers so make sure you get your copy by emailing the editor! This is the book that dissents from the herd mentality that doing wrong can lead to being right. It doesn't and this book spells out WHY.

THE KHALIDI FACTOR...

Now we all know the the media aren't that interested in discussing Obama's association with convicted terrorist Bill Ayers and the amount of dissembling that has taken place over this unfortunate relationship has been wondrous to behold.

So I figure the media will remain mute about The One's association with Rashid Khalidi?

Who is Khalidi? He is a Jew-hating former PLO operative. Obama has, of course, gone into denial mode....

"Let me respond to the question. My... uh, uh, uh, The assumption- I think the general question was that the, uh... Are there past associations of mine that would be troublesome to the Jewish community... Well, you mentioned Rashid Khalidi who's a professor at Colombia. I do know him because he taught at the University of Chicago and he is Palestinian. And, I do know him and I have had conversations. He is not one of my advisors. He is not one of my foreign policy people."

No mention of  having regular dinner dates with the Khalidis nor of praising the anti-Semite Khalidi and his valuable insights. No mention of Khalidi running a fund-raiser for The One. No mention of Obama funnelling tens of thousands of dollars to Khalidi's anti-Jewish network. Not a word of any of that, for some odd reason.

As John Hinderaker pointedly asks over on Powerline..

"Maybe one of these days a reporter will ask Obama what it was about his conversations with Khalidi that he found so educational. Would it be Khalidi's musings on the most effective way to murder an American Ambassador with a machine gun? Or on how to terrorize an Olympic Village? Why, exactly, has Obama provided funding for a notorious apologist for Islamic terrorism? Maybe such questions will be asked once Obama is safely ensconced in the White House"

You can expect to hear nothing about this from the UK media. They have shown themselves to be so biased - so outrageously partisan - that ALL they care about is getting a black man in the White House. The rest is detail - and so one more dodgy Obama connection is criminally ignored. (But hey, they are so busy with Sarah Palin's shoes...the big issues, you know?) This is why the modern media is such a danger to liberty - it does not impartially report - it selects. There is a difference. So the Obama connection with Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers and now Rashid Khalidi  are all ignored since these do not fit the narrative.

David as the man himself denies he was a PLO operative and he has never been convicted of such, could you provide a link which contains evidence of his PLO membership. Also a link in which he is critical of and bigoted toward the religion of Judaism would be nice as well. Because as Im sure an educated man such as yourself is aware, to be critical of a state or a politcal ideology is nothing to do with religion.

It seems that by posting this thread David the only bias on show is your own.

Sunday, October 26, 2008 at 10:29AM | Unregistered CommenterRS

David, a few days ago you linked to a poll, TIPP, that showed that McCain was only 1.1 pc ahead of Obama (the same poll now shows Obama once more 4 points ahead).

Some interesting aspects were revealed in the detailed breakdown of data the same poll offered. This showed, amongst other things, that of all the religious groups in the US, the one that supports Obama by far the most and McCain by far the least is America's Jewish community. Jews give McCain only 17% support! - a huge drop from the 51% of Protestants and 49% of Catholics and other Christians who apparently support the GOP hopeful.

Then there is the "Other" group, which one can only assume is made up primarily of American Muslims (there is a separate category for those of no religion), which gives McCain a sizable 36% support, i.e. more than twice the rate of Jewish support.

(One is, however, also left wondering how such data is collected. How do they phone people and ask for their religion without the phone being slammed down on them?)

Apart from the fact that this is all very much contrary to the received wisdom on ATW - although it does seem to support the view here that Jews are by nature more intelligent than the rest of us - it must be very hard for a lot of you here to accept that Jews tend to support Hussein Obama more than the despised Muslims.

David -

It's worse than that with the media.

At Khalidi’s going-away party in 2003, the scholar lavished praise on Obama, telling the mostly Palestinian American crowd that the state senator deserved their help in winning a U.S. Senate seat. “You will not have a better senator under any circumstances,” Khalidi said.

The event was videotaped, and a copy of the tape was obtained by The Times.

Obama's terrorist chum William Ayres was at that party too - hey, you can't avoid everyone in a one horse town like Chicago - and the LA Times is refusing to release the video.

Whats wrong with having palestinian american support?

Sunday, October 26, 2008 at 11:27AM | Unregistered CommenterRS

exactly RS, the root cause of Arab dissent is the palestinian situation. Solving that removes the threat from extremism, which David and Troll etc are for ever say is their biggest worry.

Fair to Israel and fair to Palestine.is the answer.
Its a no-brainer surely?

Sunday, October 26, 2008 at 01:42PM | Unregistered CommenterDrunken Cyclist

I read the link and could find no evidence of "jew hatred" - can you point out to me? Otherwise withdraw the remark.

I do see he criticises suicide bombings that target civilians - surely a reasonable stance?

What is he being criticised for? - he didnt have moral problem with the PLO fighting the IDF when the latter invaded Lebanon? How absolutely unreasonable of him.

Laughably desperate post I am afraid.

If yes, then you too are a danger to liberty?

'Any evidence that Khalidi is an anti-Semite?'

DC, there does not appear to be any.

Daytripper, yes 'strategies of tension' are what has made the neo-con/rightist world tick

Halper and Clarke in 'America Alone, The Neo-Conservatives and the Global Order,' assert that the neo-conservative worldview revolves around three core themes: ‘the human condition is defined as a choice between good
(America) and evil (other)’; military power and the willingness to use it are the fundamental determinants in relations between states; and the Middle East and ‘global Islam’ should be the primary focus in U.S. foreign policy. These fundamental beliefs create certain predispositions: viewing foreign policy in terms of ‘black-and-white, absolute moral categories’; championing the unipolar power of the United States, undermining and disregarding conventional diplomacy, multilateral institutions or international law; considering international criticism of the US as evidence of American virtue or exceptionalism; harking back to the administration of former President Ronald Reagan as the beacon of moral clarity in foreign policy, ; and finally, regarding the use of military power as the first, rather than last resort in dealing with the enemy, particularly when anything less might be considered appeasement. The appeasement of Germany in Munich1938 is critical to understanding the neo-conservative mindset. It is the holocaust, and the failure of the international community to prevent or stop it, that clarifies the good versus evil moral distinctions, the fixation on preponderance and the utility of military force, the contempt for multilateral institutions like the UN, and international law such as the Geneva Conventions, the ongoing fixation with securing the state of Israel in the Middle East, and finally, the necessity for the United States to remain permanently engaged with foreign enemies such as Al Quaeda lest it withdraw into isolationism which, like appeasement, helped pave the way for Hitler in the 1930’s and the early years of WWII. In summary, the neo-conservative mind-set revolves around three reiterated themes- good versus evil, military preponderance and the willingness to use force pre-emptively and the Middle East.

The connection is Columbia Univeristy, it is the common link between all.

It is not unusual for students, especially the more curious students, at any university, including Columbia, to join associations, volunteer groups, interest groups etc., and MOST especially in the Politics departments at the ivy leagues.

why would it be unusual for Obama to have dinner with, discussions with, connections with students and professors with whom he engaged throughout his academic career?

I know I do, and greatly value those people in my life.

John Mc Cain has associations- some of them quite suspect, from my perspective.

RS -

Probably Obama doesn't support any particular policy towards Israel and the Palestinians, even with his record of schmoozing with the obviously anti-semite Khalidi.

(Khalidi was a PLO official when it was listed as a terrorist organisation has has previous when it comes to rants about zionists, in Arabic, on al-Jazeera).

Obama is a blank slate no different from Blair, who is uncurious about the world, has no beliefs of his own and was always a puppet of Mandelson, Campbell and others.

In short, Blair was always do what was best for that cabal and Obama is no different.

Like Blair, Obama reflects what the audience wants. To Palestinians he's a liberator. To Israelis he's a staunch supporter of Israel. In office, he'd send both to hell with the stroke of a pen if it suited him.

Obama's association with Khalidi is important however, because Khalidi is a propagandist for terrorists, and you well know a man by his friends. Obama maybe could excuse away one unfortunate liason, but the list of 'innocent' friendships with terrorists and enemies of the American people and crooks grows longer by the day.

We're long past the point of excusing. Either Obama has agrees with these people, or (and this is at least partly true) he he was promoting himself, in which case his judgement falls well short of what is required in a President.

Now let's get back to the point of the post - the MSM.

It's an MSM which holds the front page for the latest on Palin's shoes. It drops in to Alaska hit squads of crack reporters to dig the dirt and report over and over on 'Troopergate' (and to show the coverage that episode has, it's been accorded the '-gate' tag).

Yet time and time and time again Obama has shown either:

a) he supports plenty of lowlife filth, or;

b) repeated and continued rotten judgement in his choice of friends, associates and dinner companions.

Yet as far as the press is concerned the tumbleweed just keeps on blowing.

Some Jews detest Zionism, like the quislings from upstate NY who came to grovel at the feet of the Iranian dictator a couple of years.

They received a very cold greeting from their Jewish neighbors upon returning, and are regarded as traitors by most.
