THE KING OF AMERICA...
Monday, November 10, 2008 at 09:21PM Over on Newsbusters we discover that...
"The co-chair of Barack Obama's Transition Team, Valerie Jarrett, appeared on Meet the Press this weekend and used, shall we say, an interesting word to described what she thinks Barack Obama will be doing in January when he's officially sworn into office. She told Tom Brokaw that Obama will be ready to "rule" on day one. It's a word that reflects the worst fears that people have for Obama the "arrogant," the "messiah," that imagines he's here to "rule" instead of govern. Jarret told Brokaw that "given the daunting challenges that we face, it's important that president elect Obama is prepared to really take power and begin to rule day one."
US citizens, hail your new King! lol.

David,
I have been told that the true measure of Obama's mandate and electoral success is on the county level.
I have been researching this aspect and the shift is very significant!
His HUGE success in turning counties from GOP to his own favour is enormous and what really has the GOP so worried.
yes Pinky uour insight just stuns us, we wait with bated breath for the first mandates of the king with no clothes
Surely, it must be a Freudian slip. Either that or someone is picking up bad habits from Messrs. Brown & Cameron who now routinely refer to "being in Power", rather than "in Office".
It's gonna be a long 4 years! All Hail!
Pinky, reviewing the Rasmussen results, it looks like the key item that sold the electorate was tax abatement. The majority of voters, apres election, were convinced that Obama would reduce taxes, they had no clue about McCain's tax policy.
This tells me that the country hasn't moved left, economics still matter and McCain had a crappy tax program and never sold it to the voters. Too busy focusing on hysterical issues like birth certificates, Ayers, religion and the like.
That said, I wonder what the Obama supporters here think about the same old D.C. entrenched crowd being given plum assignments in the new administration? So much for real change and a new brand of politics sweeping out from the White House.
Color me cynical.

LOl Troll, from what I saw in PA, I would say baited breath might be more accurate!:-)
Anyway, nice to see you are still fuming.

That says quite a bit about Mc Cains campaign. Maybe he should have picked an issue and stuck with it?

I dont think the US has moved left. I think the centre won!! I agree with the rest of what you say.

I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, it would be nice to see new faces; on the other hand, and more importantly, it is good to see some expertise from the administration of one of the US better Presidents, President Clinton. The experti is needed following the calamity that is Bush.
Color me cynical.
A gaff, but hardly a serious one.
Of course he's taking some folks from a prior Democractic Administration, that is what Presidents do, after all Bush took from prior Republicn's - Rumsfeld, Cheney - OH MY GOD HELP US!!!
See Pinky, I agree with you on the appointments. I do disagree on their collective brilliance, though. It has been pretty typical of any new president to call on experienced D.C. help when they enter office, I don't see his Clinton picks as any surprise.
McCain's campaign was pathetic. He couldn't seem to bullet point five simple issues and drive them home. What a waste of money.
How much did you send him Daphne ? Zillions ? or, or....a bit less?
Zip, Bernard. Guess I shouldn't complain, huh?
Money well not spent, Daphne.
goodnight :-)
'Night, Pinky.
