THE PRICE OF REWARDING TERRORISM

You do not defeat terrorism by rewarding terrorists, regardless of how many bleeding heart liberals argue otherwise. Want to know where that flawed approach leads to? Read UNIONISM DECAYED 1997-2007 - It's my first book and it explains what happens when you seeek to appease terrorists and call it peace. It's available right now for ATW readers so make sure you get your copy by emailing the editor! This is the book that dissents from the herd mentality that doing wrong can lead to being right. It doesn't and this book spells out WHY.

TIME FOR UN TO APOLOGISE?

I was reflecting on the UN condemnation of the IDF strike on the UN schools in the Gaza Strip, in the most recent of which 30 people were killed, according to Palestinian sources. Given that the IDF had already protested last year to the UN that it had evidence Hamas rocketeers were using these schools to fire weapons into Israel, and given that the UN had done NOTHING to stop this, isn't it time that Ban Ki-moon issued an apology to the citizens of Israel for the failure of HIS organisation to protect them from Islamic terrorists using HIS property?

Here's the stark truth. Hamas are engineering these kinds of events, knowing that whilst they cannot defeat Israel militarily, they can win the propaganda war because the MSM is wildly sympathetic to the Palestinian cause. So the more innocents die, from a Hamas perspective, the better. That's how sick they are. Here's a useful update...

David -

It's my impression that the Israel is having a pretty good propaganda war. Until now it has relied only on the rightness of its case and depravity of its enemies - and what a mistake that was.

Hezbollah behaved little differently a couple of years ago from Hamas now, yet got away with outrageous stunts. Well the useless IDF press outfit was turned into glue, to be replaced by a far more clued up bunch - as these youtube efforts demonstrate.

In the last week I've heard radio phone ins on the BBC, TalkSport and LBC and felt a foreboding before each one at the impending torrent of anti-Israeli calls, only to be nicely surprised when most callers have backed Israel.

The MSM has lost control of this one.

It has, hasn't it. Fewer and fewer people are buying the lies they peddle. They can see that Hamas is engineering as many civilian casualties as they can and that an army which telephones people to warn them that it is about to attack their building cannot possibly be said to be engaged in genocide, ethnic cleansing, disproportionate response or any other such crap the Islamists and their fellow travllers are attempting to claim they are.

We're winning this one folks. Fewer and fewer people place any trust in the media, which can only be a good thing.

Nice to see Israel bypass the MSM and get the news out without the usual propaganda filters.

Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at 11:11PM | Unregistered CommenterPatty

I hear from people that usually know what they are talking about that Egypt and Saudi Arabia tacitly support Israel in this one, though they can never admit it.

--

If Israel allowed the missiles to continue, there would come a day when the Hamas virus spread to the West Bank --and you'd see missiles fired into Tel Aviv and its airport from there.

And soon, missiles fired at Arab nations they didn't like.

--

Hamas must die, now. There's no debate to be had among serious people on this.

And then, seize the moment to craft a solution that is as fair as possible to all parties.

Israel don't compare at all with Hamas in the distortion stakes but I doubt if even their news releases are entirely unspun or unfiltered .

nobody is buying the palli/UN line except the kooks who already condemn the world for everything.

The average joe knows that to a terrorist a daycare center, a church, a hospital all mean 1 thing a target on the side they are attacking a place to hide there shit inbetween attacks

Yes, that's why they've barred all journalists from the entire Gaza Strip.

Freedom of the press can be so tiresome when you've got a few lies to tell.

Noel Cunningham -

The IDF would love for the press to report the truth from Gaza, but there's a good reason why they don't allow them in:

http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1230733155559&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull

Police were searching Saturday night for a foreign reporter working for an Iranian TV network who reported the IDF incursion into Gaza before the military authorized the release of the information to the public.

Now what are these lies the IDF is telling?

Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 12:09AM | Unregistered CommenterPete Moore

Noel: Do you honestly believe that the Israelis target innocent civilians?

Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 12:12AM | Unregistered CommenterPatty

Perhaps you would like to now detail those lies Noel if it is not too tiresome for you. Give it your best shot. Hamas do. Israel are in the middle of a defensive war. The press giving away their every move to Hamas may suit your sense of fairness I suppose. Speaking of freedoms since they matter to you so much - all Israeli citizens – Christians, Muslims, and Jews – have freedom of speech, religion, press, and the right to vote. The same cannot be said of your cherished freedom fighters. Perhaps you would like to criticize. Oh no wait...let me guess - that would be Israel's fault right?

Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 12:13AM | Unregistered CommenterJames

Noel:

1. The destruction of Israel is written in the Hamas charter.
Therefore, there can be no peace unless Hamas (or Israel) is destroyed.

2. Hamas broke the cease fire with Israel around mid- December.

3. Hamas uses suicide bombers and Hamas targets innocent civilians.

How can you support Hamas?

>>Police were searching Saturday night for a foreign reporter working for an Iranian TV network who reported the IDF incursion into Gaza before the military authorized the release of the information to the public<<.

Pity the freeborn individualist in you tends to fall just when things are getting interesting.
A man who defied heavy-handed state censorship should normally be a hero to freeborn Pete.

As if reporting plans for an incursion, when the whole world was predicting it, could have made any bloody difference.

But of course Napoleon is always right.

>>Now what are these lies the IDF is telling?<<

Well, one is that they only fire at militants.
Which is quite clearly a lie since yesterday at the latest (although ironically it was yesterday the lie was reported).

(because if you support Hamas, you are tacitly supporting the destruction of Israel)

Noel: does your 12:22 mean something because I sure don't get it.

>>Noel: Do you support the destruction of Israel?<<

Patty, it's all there in my comments on the threads over the past few days, and months.

I may be able to help you think but hardly to help you read.

>>Perhaps you would like to now detail those lies Noel <<

How many would you like me "to now detail", James?

>>Israel are in the middle of a defensive war. <<

ROFL!

The UK sustained more casualties from the IRA in any week twix 1971 and 1991 than Israel in the past several months.
It came out on top not least because it was generally sensible enough to keep its cool.

In fact, the only times it looked like losing was when it allowed fools like you influence policy.

Some people never learn. But some do.

Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 12:33AM | Unregistered CommenterNOEL CUNNINGHAM

Noel, your attempt failed. The militants were in the school. So again. For all our benefits - what lies. Plural.

Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 12:34AM | Unregistered CommenterAlan

Noel: How about a "yes" or a "no" to a simple question?

Do you support the destruction of Israel?

if "no," how do you square your support of Hamas with the fact that Hamas' charter explicitely calls for the destruction of Israel?

Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 12:41AM | Unregistered CommenterPatty

Alan, your attempt failed. I was talking about the Israeli soldiers killed yesterday.

It would be really stretching definitions to say the Israeli tank was firing at terrorists there, even for my taste! :)

of course noel wants the destruction of israel he is a terrorist sympathyser and no matter what the conflict will always be on the side of those like the pallies and the ira

"The UK sustained more casualties from the IRA in any week twix 1971 and 1991 than Israel in the past several months."

Yes Noel, but in those twenty years hundreds of thousands of British citizens weren't having to spend their time in bomb shelters as the Israelis within rocket range are. That's the only reason Israeli casualties haven't been far, far higher.

But then you knew that already. You just don't care because they've only brought it on themselves by not having laid down and died in 1948, right?

Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 07:20AM | Registered CommenterDSD

These hamas bastards are just like the Irish murdering terrorists that wanted to erase an entire country off the face of the earth that played the media like a bunch of fools by placing crying women, small children and broken homes in front of their faces like props in a TV show.

Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 08:32AM | Unregistered CommenterJames H

'You just don't care because they've only brought it on themselves by not having laid down and died in 1948, right?'

No they did not lay down and die, nor did anyone ask them to. What they did do was murder and ethnically cleanse the Palestinians off their own land, Which is why the palestinians are understandably a little bit annoyed. But as the 'Palis' have dark skin its ok to oppress them isn't it?

Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 10:00AM | Unregistered CommenterRS

"No they did not lay down and die, nor did anyone ask them to"

Erm, except for the Arab League which stated quite unequivocally to the world that its goal was to 'liquidate' and 'exterminate' every Jew in the new Israel.

"What they did do was murder and ethnically cleanse the Palestinians off their own land, Which is why the palestinians are understandably a little bit annoyed."

No, they didn't. The Jew-hating version of history where food and wells were poisoned by the hundred and Palestinians murdered by the thousand is only believed by those in the fever swamps of the Far Left and Far Right, and nobody with half a brain or a scintilla of morality goes there unless they want a good laugh.

Seriously, when a Truther claims deep historical knowledge it's time to snigger.

Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 12:34PM | Registered CommenterDSD

Are you referring to Abdul Rahman Hassan Azzam, the guy who condemned anti-jewish rioting in Eygpt?

'No, they didn't.'

Unfortunately they did. The zionists themselves even admitted as much. So please explain how you are in a position to counter the admissions of those you seek to defend. Nevermind what international observers saw and reported.
